I love Christmas and one of my favourite things is planning gifts for my family and friends. I always start early with my Christmas shopping, usually in September. Whilst this might sound early it really helps me budget if I spread the cost of over a few months. Due to the second Lockdown I have turned to shopping online more for toys and games for my children. My son is such a tween and I thought I would share some of the gifts I chose for him this year.
Christmas gift guide for tweens 2020
My son is now a tween and in that difficult stage of still enjoying his toys whilst also desperate to be older and spend all his time online! He loves all things Lego but also his PlayStation and Switch. Let me share what he will be opening this year.
Pokemon Pikachu sleep plush*
Time to cuddle up with this massive 18-Inch Sleeping Pikachu Plush! This large-scale Pikachu features a super soft fabric exterior and a fluffy filling that makes it ideal for playing, napping, or snuggling!
Lego Technic Land Rover Defender*
Experience world-leading vehicle design firsthand with this highly authentic and displayable 42110 LEGO Technic Land Rover Defender model. Developed in partnership with Land Rover, this impressive LEGO replica captures the vehicle’s outstanding level of refinement with its clean, modern lines and sculpted surfaces, and comes with original-design rims with ground-gripping tyres, plus a host of realistic features and functions.
Opening doors allow access to an elaborate cabin with a working steering wheel, detailed dashboard and a new-for-October-2019 transmission system with 2 levers for engaging high or low gear ratios and a selector for changing gear – the most sophisticated LEGO Technic gearbox to date! The interior also features forward-folding rear seats that give visual access to the 4-speed sequential gearbox.
The model has an in-line 6-cylinder engine with moving pistons beneath the bonnet, working All Wheel Drive with 3 differentials, independent suspension on both axles and a working winch. You can even open the rear door with a turn of the rear-mounted spare wheel. Finished with a removable roof rack with storage box, pannier, ladder and traction mats.
Bored Skateboard*
This fun beginners skateboard has cool graphics and printed griptape. It is 7 ply maple deck for advanced tricks. The flat decks allow maximum space for feet, enabling “boardwalking” and other cool tricks.
Bakugan BTB Battle 5 Pack*
Bakugan is new to me but something my children have recently discovered.
Jumpstart your Bakugan collection with the Bakugan Battle Pack! Inside this pack, you’ll find two fierce Bakugan Ultra, three Bakugan, 10 powerful BakuCores, 5 Character Cards and 5 collectible Ability Cards.
Roll your Bakugan over the included BakuCores to POP OPEN Baku-Action! Or, roll your Bakugan Ultra to make your fierce creature perform an epic LEAP OPEN transformation! Armed with your Bakugan, you can roll against your friends to see who will become the Ultimate Bakugan Master!
Pokemon single duvet and pillow set*
I love giving bedding sets at Christmas. This set features super-cute Pokémon from the latest games in the series, Sword and Shield.
In a bright shade of blue with Pokéball-coloured red and white stripes running throughout, Pikachu can be seen waving happily, while Scorbunny, Sobble and Grookey are all having fun too. Kids can even switch up the style whenever they like – just flip the duvet cover over to reveal a repeating print featuring the same Pokémon dotted all over.
PS4 Star Wars Squadrons*
Learn what it means to be a pilot in a thrilling Star Wars single-player story set after the events of Return of the Jedi. Seen from alternating perspectives between two factions, iconic and emerging leaders on both sides are battling for the galaxy. The New Republic fights for freedom. The Empire demands order. Perfect for Star Wars fans.
I’d love to hear what you think of my Gift Guide for Tweens. I’ve picked gifts which will keep my son busy, from building Lego to playing on his beloved PlayStation and getting outside on a skateboard.
