2023 Christmas gingerbread gift guide

I feel like I’m a little late with my Christmas Gingerbread Gift Guide this year. I’ve been picking up gingerbread themed products for a good few weeks now, but I just haven’t had the time to photograph anything. I have finally put everything together and I am delighted to bring you a post dedicated to my favourite gingerbread products.

The term gingerbread refers to a broad category of baked goods, typically flavoured with delicious spices including ginger, cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon. I can’t resist a gingerbread biscuit all year round but they seem extra special at this time of year.

2023 Christmas gingerbread gift guide

Every year I’ve gotten into the habit of picking up gingerbread goodies and I love to share them with you. This year I’ve included gingerbread themed gifts as well as gingerbread house kits and gingerbread biscuits. Of course I’ll be building any gingerbread house kits over the next few weeks and linking them here so you can see how they turned out.

Gingerbread dough from Ikea, £2.25

This is my favourite dough and I make sure to buy some blocks every winter. It keeps well in the fridge and is easy to roll out and use. The dough smells amazing and tastes really good too.

Gingerbread mix from Tesco, £1.80

This is another gingerbread mix which I pick up when I see it. As much as I love making gingerbread dough from scratch, this is a great alternative, and tastes really good.

I love stocking up on candles at this time of year. I couldn’t resist this gingerbread scented candle from M&S. We’ve lit it a few times and the smell is pretty authentic.

Dropcloth Sampler gingerbread house panel

Dropcloth Samplers are pre-printed fabrics you can stitch and embroider. I stitched one a few years ago and really enjoyed the process, so I ordered the gingerbread house panel too. It features four sweet gingerbread houses which can be cut out and embroidered.

Lego gingerbread ornaments from the Lego Store, £10.99

I love this set so much I bought two of them! The kit features 3 buildable gingerbread figures – which is why I had to buy another set. I’m looking forward to making these with my children and hanging them on the tree. We’ve built them – take a look here.

Gingerbread treats

Candyhouse Ltd Merry Christmas Gingerbread Men

We always have a table of festive sweets at Christmas and I had to buy these when I saw them. The kids are already desperate to open them. The sweets are shaped like mini gingerbread men, and although they are gingerbread colour, they are actually fruit flavoured.

Another repeat purchase from last year as they taste so good. Perfect for lunchboxes too!

Gingerbread flavoured Gifflar from Ikea, £1.95

The kids made my pick these up on a recent trip to Ikea as they enjoyed them so much last year. We are creatures of habit.

Gingerbread lolly, Flying Tiger £1

Flying Tiger had a lot of gingerbread gifts when we visited. They always have gingerbread biscuit, gingerbread houses and decor but I only bought the things I knew we would get round to using. My daughter loves sweets so I picked up a gingerbread shaped lolly which is strangely strawberry flavoured. I also bought her the cheery gingerbread marshmallow lolly which I know she is going to love!

There you have our 2023 gingerbread gift guide. Our food cupboard is full so I doubt we will be making many more purchases. You may have noticed that we haven’t bought a large gingerbread house this year, I’m hoping the mini gingerbread house kit from Ikea will be a little more fun and manageable!

Let me know if you’ve seen any gingerbread products you think we should try.
