The weather has been beautiful recently, so warm and sunny that the children have been spending lots of time outdoors. They have their favourite games but I’m always happy to introduce new ones. A few months ago the children collected a range of Star Wars-themed water bottles. They wouldn’t let me throw them away so they’ve been in our junk modelling box ever since. Today I’m joining in with theA-Z of Outdoor Activities with the letter Q. I knew these bottles would be perfect for an outdoor game of Quilles, the old French word for skittles. Since my son watched The Force Awakens in December everything has been about Star Wars. Up to that moment he had been a huge Minecraft fan but now it’s all forgotten and all he seems to do is eat, sleep and talk about Star Wars. However, we’ve had so much fun crafting around the theme of Star Wars. Luckily we’re all Star Wars fans, yes, even me! We wanted to make something special to celebrate May 4th. My 6 year old loved the idea of a Star Wars Day so we made our very own papier mache Death Star. This…

I’m a huge fan of crafting with Duck Tape. It’s strong, colourful and good value. My local Hobbycraft always has an eye catching display and a few weeks ago we spotted they had Star Wars Duck Tape! My 5 year old is obsessed with Star Wars so we bought some to craft with. He made me a picture frame with it so I thought it was about time I made him a little gift. Whilst he was at school I made him a Star Wars Duck Tape wallet to keep all his Star Wars cards safe. This took 10 minutes…

Earlier this year I made my daughter a lovely Liberty quilt. She keeps it on her bed and I’m so happy she loves it, if she didn’t I would quite happily put it on my bed instead. My 5 year old son keeps asking if I can make him something as “you’re always making stuff for her” as he puts it. Little did he know that I was planning on making something for him too. Since Star Wars Episode VII came out he has turned into the biggest Star Wars fan. His birthday is coming up next month so I…

Have you seen the new Star Wars film yet? My husband has seen it twice and my 5 year old has seen it once so far. I’m really hoping I’ll find a cinema ticket under the tree for me to go and see it! My 5 year old has fallen in love with BB-8 the cute little droid in Star Wars so I thought I would make him a special BB-8 droid Star Wars decoration. BB-8 droid Star Wars decoration If you’re not a fan of Star Wars then BB-8 is a spherical robot with a free-moving domed head. He is white, with…
