    Blackbird’s nest appliqué project

I’m sure I’m not the only person with a craft stash. This year I want to work my way through some of it. I do love a seasonal project and with Spring in the air I turned to one of the projects I didn’t make from a previous Craftpod subscription box. The box contained two projects. I made the felt pin cushion, but for some reason never started the Blackbird’s nest appliqué project. I have never done much appliqué, so I think this was one I put aside for when I had more time. Blackbird’s nest appliqué project Thankfully I…

    Pom pom Spring wreath tutorial

The weather has been amazing over the last few days here in the UK. We’ve been so lucky that it coincided with Good Friday and Easter Monday so we had an extra long weekend to enjoy it. We did a fair bit of travelling from our week in Devon via Wiltshire and back to London again. We never seem to be at home over Easter so our house felt a little empty  when we returned home. Fortunately we had been #gifted some craft supplies from Bostik including Micro Dots and Foam Pads. We used these supplies to make a simple…

Spring blossom sun catchers for kids

I am so happy to be seeing the signs of Spring around me. Yesterday I hung the washing out for the first time this year and the children played happily in the garden. I gave them a bucket of water and sponges so they could clean their trampoline. I have a favourite road to drive down and the trees are full of blossom. I feel so happy knowing that Spring is here. I’ve been encouraging the children to notice these signs too. I want them to be aware of the changing seasons and appreciate them. We’ve been collecting the falling…

10 first day of Spring crafts for pre-schoolers

Have you noticed how much lighter the evenings are here in the UK? The days seem to be getting noticeably longer every day and the clocks go forward in a few weeks. I feel so much happier at this time of year and seem to achieve more, thanks to the extra hours of daylight. Of course more hours of daylight means more time to spend with my children. We’ve spent a few hours tidying up the garden, and even mowed the lawn for the first time. I can’t wait to give the playhouse a spring clean and tidy up the…

    Spring bird hand print craft

Today the sun is shining at long last. It even feels a tiny bit warm but ssshh, I don’t want to jinx the weather just yet. With a touch of Spring in the air I thought it was a great time to have some after school fun with my daughter and create a hand print bird. She loves to use her hands and I think this kind of craft makes a great seasonal keepsake too. Sylvanian Families Spring Sensory tray

My daughter has been really enjoying her Sylvanian Families toys recently. I love that she plays with them all year around but I think they really lend themselves to Springtime. The sun was shining today so I set up a really simple Spring-themed invitation to play for her when she got home from school. My daughter is 5 and she loves the seasonal stationery and activity box. The Spring Box from Mila & Pheebs The subscription box is significantly larger than last months box. Celebrating the Spring Equinox with children

Did you know that March 20th is the Spring or Vernal, Equinox? We’ve noticed that the days are getting longer and today both night and day are equal, hence the Equinox (Latin for equal night). I really wanted to mark it in some way so today we thought we would dig out our seasonal tree and decorate it for Spring. Celebrating the Spring Equinox with children Our seasonal tree is white, perfect for Spring. We don’t have any Spring decorations, so I looked through our Easter box and found some glass animal ornaments, some pom pom Easter eggs, butterflies and…
