We’re at a happy stage in our lives right now. We have a 36 month old and a 16 month old which I suppose means we have two toddlers – scary, but fun. Pregnancy seems a long time ago and whilst I would love to add a third to our nest I’m not sure that will happen. I wanted to take part in a competition and was given a couple of prompts to help me write. The first prompt was the ‘3rd trimester of pregnancy‘. Reading this made me shudder as although I had straight forward pregnancies I’m ashamed to…

I’m a big fan of Heidi Murkoff’s best-selling books, I don’t think I could have got through either pregnancy without her brilliant books. I’m feeling sad today as we’ve been having a clear out ahead of putting our house on the market. Yes, I’ve banged on before about moving but we’re finally doing it. A couple of weeks ago we were called in to the toddlers’ school as he was ready to move up a stage. For complicated reasons he can’t continue there so we’re moving. Hopefully we will be able to find a bigger house with better schools in a nicer part of London. Anyway, the last two weeks we’ve had the builders in. Remember we had a plan for sub-dividing our…

I’ve been having a real clear out this weekend. The pregnancy books, maternity clothes and tiny baby clothes are all bagged up for our nearest charity shop. I’m not sure if we’ll be adding to our little tribe but we can’t store many things in our little house. Bio-Oil has recently launched a new pregnancy tab on their Facebook page for mums to share their best pregnancy tips with mums-to-be. The idea is that over time it will become a hub of really useful information. Bio-Oil have also printed a collection of tips from Mumsnetters across the UK in the…

My wardrobe has desperately needed sorting out but funnily enough it hasn’t been high on my list of priorities, I’ve been slightly too busy juggling children and boring household chores. However, last weekend I couldn’t take it any more. I realised I was wearing the same few items which were just being washed and put back on and I needed to declutter. My wardrobe and drawers were full, just not with clothes I wore anymore. I grabbed a bin bag and took a closer look – old work clothes (too small!) and lots of maternity clothes. Some items I greeted…

2011 has had its ups and downs like any other year but we’re ending it on a high – with an unexpected couple of days with family on the Isle of Wight. I won’t be making any New Year resolutions that I won’t be able to keep. Instead I have my Day Zero list which I’m really enjoying working my way through and will continue doing. There’s a couple of things I am looking forward to in 2012. Here’s hoping: Big Brother has a full set of teeth by the end of the year – I can’t take any more…

So on Monday the day finally came when we would get to meet our new baby. We dropped Edward off with a friend and drove to the hospital. On arrival we found out that we were the third section booked that morning and there was the possibility of a couple of emergency sections too. We were taken to a large double room with en-suite bathroom and settled down for a long wait. The Anaesthetist came for a chat about pain relief and when she had gone we took some photographs of ourselves and the lovely babygro we had made the…

I haven’t had much time to think about whether we needed to attend ante-natal classes this time round. It’s only 20 months since we attended NCT classes which we didn’t find particularly useful, other than an opportunity to meet people local to us. We didn’t gel with any of the group and haven’t seen any of them for months. However, let’s forget real life for a moment. There seem to be quite a few pregnant celebs around which got me thinking, who would I like in my (fantasy) ante-natal class? I would love to have Emma Willis in my class.…
