    London’s sandy beach

We had the most amazing day out today at the London Eye and South Bank. It’s one of my favourite places in London and there’s lots to do for free! We didn’t tell the toddler where we were going until we were right underneath the London Eye and luckily he was excited about going on it. The weather was perfect so we all enjoyed the view from our pod. There was enough space for the children to move freely around and they were very well behaved. After our little ride we went for a walk along the South Bank which…

Small world play and the Little Poppets

My children are really lucky to be sent some lovely new books, the latest is Little Poppets which is a new series of board book first stories following the adventures of four friends: Mole, Rose, Pippin and Mouse (the Little Poppets). These gently humorous stories and the intricately conceived detail of the world in which they live will delight children and adults alike. The stories are sweet and comical, with little mysteries for the Little Poppets to solve, such as where on earth the socks on Mouse’s sock tree are really coming from! Both my children have been enjoying Mouse’s…

    William Morris Gallery Walthamstow

A friend told me about the William Morris Gallery and Lloyd Park in Walthamstow, not far from us. Perfect (i.e. dry) weather was forecast this morning so we headed there. The building was beautiful and behind was a hidden gem, a huge public park with formal gardens, a moat, children’s park, cafe and much more. First of all we let the children (and daddy) run around the park. They loved it, everything was new and shiny and they had fun on the slides, trampoline, swings, slide and sand pit. The shiny paths were perfect for scooting along and there was…

    Magic Wand review and giveaway

I don’t know about your children but my toddler doesn’t stop. From the moment he wakes up he’s talking, playing and jumping around non-stop until he falls into bed 12 hours later. I’m very thankful he goes to bed easily but I do have 12 hours to keep him entertained every day. We have a great stock of puzzles, books and toys but were recently sent a new toy which has clearly been designed just for him. Called the Magic Moves Wand, it is aimed at 3-7 year olds and has been designed to get children moving. It is really…

    Charity shop addiction

I may have lost my blogging mojo but I’m very glad I’ve still got my charity shop addiction. In fact I was very happy to be out straight after Christmas, especially as we were visiting my mum and she has some great shops where she lives. Over the last couple of weeks I’ve picked up some items which have been on my wish list, namely scrabble tiles for crafting, vintage buttons and even a toy bubble gum machine (which I filled with buttons!). We’ve been out today as the snow is slowly melting and I picked up a wooden dolls…

    Play with Fisher-Price

Fisher-Price kindly offered me a ticket to the Baby Show last month to check out their latest toys. We love the Baby Show so off we went and were not disappointed! Fisher-Price had a  huge play area filled with toys which the toddler and his sister really enjoyed, as well as a huge display of baby equipment. In the play area there were lots of old favourites like the Laugh & Learn Puppy’s Piano, Brilliant Basis Chatter Telephone, Stand-Up Ballcano, Brilliant Basics Lil’ Snoopy, and Laugh & Learn Cookie Shape Surprise, as well as the recently launched Little People Wheelies Loops…

    Fisher Price vintage loveliness

It’s not often I receive emails from people which I have to read a couple of times because they are so lovely. A couple of weeks ago I received a comment on my blog from Emma at painted style who had read how much I love vintage Fisher Price and offered to send me the Fisher Price school desk for my collection! Fisher Price vintage loveliness They are top of my charity shop wish list as I follow them on ebay whenever I see them, but hadn’t purchased one – yet. Emma said “I’ve been car booting for decades and…

    3-in-1 Trike with DiscoverSounds Dashboard

I can honestly say we love Little Tikes so I was delighted to be asked to review the 3-in-1 Trike with DiscoverSounds Dashboard. The box was surprisingly small considering it converts to three stages and it was easy to put together (according to daddy). You don’t have to worry about storing lots of pieces to convert the trike as all the pieces are really well thought out. My children are the perfect age for this trike. The 10 month loves it as she can be taken for a ride whilst playing with the interactive dashboard. The toddler has also been…

Little People Disney Princess castle review

Little Sis was incredibly lucky to be sent the Little People Disney Princess castle from Fisher-Price which is suitable for ages 18 months – 5 years. It was easy to assemble (according to daddy), it came with stickers to put on the castle and some of the accessories, and needed batteries (3 AAA batteries to be precise). I have to be honest and say the children have never watched a Disney film but this didn’t bother them or seem to stop their enjoyment of this toy. Both my children loved the Disney Princess Castle which is great as it really…
