Play with Fisher-Price

Posted on November 21, 2012December 27, 2012 by jenny

Fisher-Price kindly offered me a ticket to the Baby Show last month to check out their latest toys. We love the Baby Show so off we went and were not disappointed! Fisher-Price had a  huge play area filled with toys which the toddler and his sister really enjoyed, as well as a huge display of baby equipment.

joy of learning

In the play area there were lots of old favourites like the Laugh & Learn Puppy’s Piano, Brilliant Basis Chatter Telephone, Stand-Up Ballcano, Brilliant Basics Lil’ Snoopy, and Laugh & Learn Cookie Shape Surprise, as well as the recently launched Little People Wheelies Loops ’n Swoops Amusement Park, which the toddler absolutely adored. We had a brilliant time and it was lovely that the children had somewhere to play as the Baby Show was very busy. It was also lovely to hear more about the brand and see some of their latest products.

busy conductor

Fisher-Price kindly sent us away with a toy each for the toddler and his sister. The toddler received the Thomas & Friends Busy Conductor, perfect for such a Thomas fan!

According to the website “The Thomas Busy Conductor has five role play features. Rotate the yellow lever to hear train chug sound effects. The higher the lever is moved, the faster the chugs will sound. Rotate the lever down and the train chugs sounds will slow down. Rotate the red brake lever to hear brake sound effects. Press the whistle down to hear whistling sounds, Press the water gauge down to hear bubble & steam sounds and rotate the firebox wheel to hear crackling and burning sounds and the light will flash in a pattern. Hear Thomas phrases and watch lights flash throughout play.”

This toy is aimed at 18 months + so was a little young for the toddler. It didn’t really captivate his attention for very long but I think he would have loved it when he was younger (he’s now 32 months).

dance and play puppy

His sister was sent the Laugh & Learn Dance and Play Puppy which she loves. It looked scarily big in the box but was actually a reasonable size. Aimed at 9-36 months Little Sis is the perfect age for it at 11 months.

The Fisher-Price website says “Who’s ready to wiggle and dance? The Dance & Play Puppy comes to life with baby-friendly motions, lively songs, irresistible wiggles and plenty of interactive learning fun! Two modes of play help baby learn through songs, phrases, movement and games. Puppy guides baby through motions (Let’s clap!) to foster language development and how to follow directions. And there are plenty of surprises to delight baby—like ears that move up and down!”

It makes her laugh although her older brother has to press the buttons to make it work for her. I find the noise of its arms and ears moving slightly annoying but both children have been having lots of fun with it and I know they will continue to do so.
