My son loves cats so, for a summer holiday treat, I booked a visit to Java Whiskers Cat Lounge in London. Java Whiskers is a Cat Cafe in London’s Marylebone and is a fun place to stop off for an hour. We’ve been to a few Cat Cafes including London’s first cat cafe, Lady Dinah’s Cat Emporium, back in 2018. They are always fun to visit and we were excited to explore somewhere new, and meet lots of cats of course. Java Whiskers Cat Lounge Marylebone Java Whiskers Cat Lounge has two branches in London, the original one in Marylebone,…

We love a guided walk. They are such a great way to learn new things and see things differently. Last year we were lucky to attend a guided walk along the Thames foreshore at Bermondsey. My daughter always seems to spot small things, and often comes home with a pretty feather or unusual stone from the beach. I knew she would enjoy a guided walk along the Thames foreshore. {Exploring} Bermondsey Foreshore Walk with Thames Festival Trust The Thames Trust is an annual festival of the Thames and features guided walks and events along the Thames. I booked the family…

Last month I shared a post about our epic visit to London to see the Morph’s Epic Art Adventure London trail. I’m sure it’s possible to visit all the sculptures in one day but we decided to break it down and visit them over a few days. We love a trip into London as there’s always so much to see and do. Not only is Morph’s Epic Art Adventure London trail accessible to all, it’s also free and fun to do. We did pay for the app but it’s definitely made ticking off the sculptures more fun and well worth…

A few weeks ago we visited our local Board Game Cafe, d20 Uxbridge Board Game Cafe. If the name sounds familiar that’s because they have another branch we’ve previous visited, d20 Watford. d20 Uxbridge Board Game Cafe The Uxbridge branch can be found down Windsor Street which is the prettiest street in Uxbridge. It’s full of independent shops and the perfect place for a board game cafe. It’s at the furthest end of the street, away from Uxbridge town centre, but still only a few minutes from Uxbridge underground station. There are at least two rooms at d20 so we…

Photos by Pamela Raith We are now counting down the days until the kids finish school for the Christmas holidays. The Autumn term is always a long one and we have been kept so busy with clubs, hobbies and exams. Now we are winding down and can’t wait until we can enjoy some family time together. Last weekend we were invited to go and watch Bugsy Malone The Musical at the beautiful Alexandra Palace theatre and I can’t wait to tell you more about it. Bugsy Malone The Musical at Alexandra Palace Bugsy Malone is a real classic gangster musical…

Christmas is almost here! Between the shopping, cooking, and decorating, it can be an intense period. But Christmas is all about having a brilliant time with those we love best. That’s where the theatre comes in. Between the festive theatre shows, the romantic, the dramatic, and the family-friendly, there are more than enough enthralling shows for you to enjoy as a family, a couple, or for some valuable me-time in the run-up to the big day. Theatre shows to attend in London this Christmas To help you find the perfect show for you, here are some of the best London…

A few weekends ago we used our National Trust membership to explore Ham House with the kids and dog. We love our National Trust membership, it encourages us to get out and about and explore new parts of the country. Ham House has been on our wish list for a while and we were excited to visit. Exploring Ham House and Garden Ham House is a rare and atmospheric 17th-century house on the River Thames in Richmond, near London. There’s a large, free car park by the river, and a short walk brings you to the front of Ham House.…

Last weekend we were invited to celebrate at this year’s Olivier, WhatsonStage and Broadway World Award-winning Best New Musical, Back To The Future, at the Adelphi Theatre. We hadn’t been to the theatre for years so were really excited to visit and see a show based on one of our favourite films. Exploring London theatre: Back to the Future the Musical Back to the Future tells the story of Marty McFly, a rock ‘n’ roll teenager who is accidentally transported back to 1955 in a time-travelling DeLorean invented by his friend, Dr Emmett Brown. Before he can return to 1985,…

Yesterday we went into London to explore The Queen and her Corgi’s trail. The trail was set up to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, celebrating the Queen’s closest companions, her fleet of corgis. The trail runs throughout the London Heritage Quarter, from Victoria Station to Westminster and the Northbank. Exploring The Queen and her Corgis trail Did you know that Queen Elizabeth owned her first corgi when she was just seven, it was called Dookie. During her reign she has owned over 3o corgis, all of them Pembroke Welsh Corgis. She has also owned cocker spaniels and the dachshund cross…
