My 6 year old adores dinosaurs. She always has and has been so happy at school this term as they’ve been studying dinosaurs. She has a great collection of dinosaur books, dinosaur toys and we’ve just added dinosaur clothes too. Have you seen the new Jurassic World clothing range at H&M? Sadly they were only in the boys section but my daughter didn’t care. But come on H&M – girls love dinosaurs too! She’s worn her new Jurassic World trousers practically every day! We also have some of the new Jurassic World Pez for our Pez collection. She loves watching…

Yesterday was the last day of our Christmas holiday so we decided to head into London and visit BRICKLIVE Christmas at the Saatchi Gallery. We all love Lego. Christmas was spent building Lego BB8, Lego Boost and the Lego Nutcracker so we thought this would be a fun morning. BRICKLIVE describes itself as an interactive Lego-based Show for Lego fans. You can wonder at expert builder displays, build a mosaic, build a present and even meet Father Christmas. The show was split across four zones, the Christmas Zone, the Creative Zone, Minecraft and Star Wars. Each one offered a different…

Ages ago an advert for Lego tape kept appearing in my Facebook feed. I am so easy to market too as after a few days I got so fed up of seeing the advert that I bought some tape! Since it arrived it has been sitting and looking at me as I had no idea what to do with it. Today I thought we should finally use it. The children kept picking it up but they didn’t really know what to do with it either. It’s expensive enough that I don’t want them to just peel the backing paper off…

Lego bricks are something that get played with a lot in our house. There are always some random creations on shelves that I’m not allowed to touch. I think that every home with children must contain some lego bricks so for this weeks’ A-Z Play at Home post we used our lego duplo to create a game. Lego Ring Toss game Lego Duplo bricks are chunky and colourful and very quick to build with. We based our Lego Ring Toss on quoits, a traditional game of skills and accuracy. I challenged my 7 year old to find a lego base…

As fans of all things brick we were delighted to hear about a new subscription box for Lego fans called BrickBox. This is a monthly subscription box and we recently received the June box and made a little unboxing video of the contents: The BrickBox theme for this month was: Lego Jungle from the Lego City range which we were really excited about as we had spotted some sets in our local toy shop at the weekend and thought they looked brilliant. This BrickBox contained three Lego sets – the Lego Jungle Starters Set, the Lego Jungle Buggy and a Lego Jungle…

My children love toys. The ages 5 and 7 seem to be the perfect age and I love watching them play with their toys. With the Summer holidays looming Tesco Direct kindly sent us some of the latest Lego products to review at home and get us inspired for some of this Summer’s blockbuster films. Lego are a favourite product in our house and I can’t believe how lucky the children were to receive Beware the Vulture (from Lego Super Heroes set 76083), Thunder Hollow Crazy 8 Race (Lego Junior Cars 3 set 10744), and Harley Quinn Dorm (from Lego…

A few weeks ago I was trying to gather some ideas for my son’s party bags. I quite enjoy putting them together, I’ve definitely had enough practice over the last few years. The theme was Emoji but I couldn’t resist making some Lego men soaps too. I quite like making my own soap and I thought these Lego men soaps would appeal to the boys. To make your own Lego Men Soaps you will need: disposable plastic container or glass jar soap base and colour wooden stirrer Lego Men mould How to make easy Lego Men Soaps First melt your…

This week has been a bit hit and miss. I’ve been busy planning for my son’s birthday which is on Saturday. He’s turning 7 which is kinda shocking as I remember the day he was born as if it was yesterday. We’re having a low key day with some of his friends coming over, then taking him out for dinner. Currently there’s a huge pile of presents to be wrapped in the corner of my bedroom – I’m not quite sure how he hasn’t guessed what’s hiding under the Spiderman blanket! Every week I try and write a post about…

My 5 year old absolutely adores Batman so for Christmas we gave her tickets to go and see The Art Of The Brick: DC Super Heroes, billed as the world’s largest collection of Super Heroes-inspired LEGO artwork! Created by legendary Lego artist Nathan Sawaya, this is the second large-scale exhibition of his that we’ve been to see. It’s actually been two years ago since we saw the last one, blogged about here. This new The Art Of The Brick, sub-titled DC Super Heroes is a contemporary art exhibition using nearly 2,000,000 bricks to create large-scale sculptures of the most enduring…
