    Our kid-friendly garden (which us adults love too!)

    Photo by Kelly Sikkema on Unsplash Now our Summer holidays have finally started I’ve been thinking up ways to keep my children busy. We have holidays planned but we also have lots of down time at home. Sometimes I think my children just don’t know how to be bored but I know that being bored is really good for them, because boredom sparks creativity. However, it’s always worth having a few ideas to spark their creativity just in case. Our kid-friendly garden (which us adults love too!) We have a reasonable back garden and we’ve done quite a lot of work on it…

    Monday mindfulness – Summer holidays {Week 1}

    Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend and are enjoying the start of the school summer holidays. The weather has been a little too hot for us so I’m so happy that the temperature has dropped AND we’ve had rain. Each week I start off by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I always enjoy writing. 10 things to do in London with dinosaur crazy kids

    I think I’ve mentioned before that my 6 year old is crazy about dinosaurs. She loves reading about them and playing with her toy dinosaurs. We’ve recently been watching all the old Jurassic World films in the hope we may go and watch the latest film Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom. My daughter has even go herself the Jurassic World Fallen Kingdom and I have to say the stickers make a pleasant change from the ones she used to collect (Frozen!). Last month we had a great trip to experience Dinosaurs in the Wild on the Greenwich Peninsula in London. It got me…

    Poo-nicorns characters from Bandai {Poomoji + unicorn}

    Bandai has taken two of the hottest trends and combined them into one fun plush collection called Poo-nicorns. We were sent a selection for the children to review. I didn’t really know what to expect when I heard about them but both my children love unicorns and the poo emoji, I love how this brought them both together and I knew they would be an instant hit with them. These characters come in a variety of affordable plush ranging from 9cm Plushies Palz with a carabiner clip to add to bags or keyrings, to 40cm Puffiez Pillows. All are complete…

    Getting through the day with Arla Organic Free Range milk

    Monday to Friday between the hours of 9 and 3 are very much ‘my’ time. This means it’s my time to do the food shopping, clean the house, change the bed sheets, and do all those jobs which come up each week. The busiest week included buying both children something red, white or blue to wear to their Royal Wedding parties at school, sorting out donations for the School Fair, tackling the ironing, making bunting for the Royal Wedding party at school, paying for the Greek workshop and picking up a new Cubs outfit for my son. After school revolves…

    A day out to Greenwich and the Cutty Sark

    A few weeks ago we took the MBNA Thames Clipper back from the O2 into Central London after our visit to Dinosaurs in the Wild. It is such a lovely way to travel and you get to see a different view of London. My children were so excited to see all the buildings along the Thames and we promised them we would come back and have a day out to Greenwich and the Cutty Sark during the school holidays. A few weeks ago we were offered some complimentary tickets so planned our trip. London is made up of many small…

    Simple Summer activity for kids – den building

    Over the last few weeks we’ve been experiencing a mini-heatwave in the UK which is quite nice. Records have been smashed several times and we’re all enjoying being outside after school. The children have re-discovered their playhouse and I love watching them discover forgotten toys which have been buried inside it. This week they’ve been den building in the garden, this can be a really low-cost activity which keeps them busy over and over again during the summer holidays. I’ve really enjoyed sharing my ideas for a low cost Summer which include how to make a Summer smash book, trying out painting…
