A trip to the Andover Catfe

We recently found ourselves in the pretty Hampshire town of Andover and discovered there was a cat cafe there. My son loves cats so we booked a slot to have some tea and cakes whilst enjoying being surrounded by cats (we love a cat cafe!). We are already hooked on Miss Austen, the tv adaptation of Miss Austen by Gill Hornby, and we are looking forward to finding out about all of the events happening this year. Big Fun Art Adventure owl trail

We love an art trail and there have been some fun ones around this year. Luckily a few weeks later we managed to discover the wonderful dog sculptures from the Canary Wharf Art Trail, the Little Egg Hunt Trail and SmileyWorld. Big Fun Art Adventure owl trail The Big Fun Art Adventure is a sculpture trail of owls around north London, delivered by North London Hospice in partnership with Wild in Art.…

Picking sunflowers at The Pop Up Farm

Today we visited The Pop Up Farm so we could pick some sunflowers. The Pop Up Farm is just outside London and really easy to get to. We booked our tickets online which included the chance to pick our own sunflower so we made sure to take our secateurs! Picking sunflowers at The Pop Up Farm It’s easy to find The Pop Up Farm as they have a beautiful traditional red barn. We walked passed it to the sunflower fields, following the path through to find 8 different things around the sunflower fields, including a pommel horse, bath, picture frame and…

Summer Exhibition 2024 Royal Academy of Arts

2024 is the year of trying new things so I booked a trip to the renowned Summer Exhibition 2024 Royal Academy in London. Both the kids attend extra art lessons and this is somewhere I’ve been meaning to take them for a few years. The Summer Exhibition is an annual exhibition and has taken place every year since 1769, featuring the work of established and emerging artists. Summer Exhibition 2024 Royal Academy of Arts Artists can submit their work (along with a fee, of course) and a panel of judges produce a list of those which are worthy of being…

Up At The O2 with teens

A few weeks ago we spent a weekend exploring North Greenwich. We stayed at the Holiday Inn Express London-Greenwich, watched Keane perform at The O2 for their 20th anniversary Hopes and Fears Tour, and enjoyed exploring a new area the other side of London to where we live. The O2 is a great venue with plenty of places to eat, drink, shop and be entertained. Up At The O2 Now the kids are older our days out are different. We look for experiences that we will all enjoy, even if it means pushing our comfort boundaries (mine!). On our last…
