A trip to the Andover Catfe

A trip to the Andover Catfe

Posted on February 10, 2025February 12, 2025 by jenny

We recently found ourselves in the pretty Hampshire town of Andover and discovered there was a cat cafe there. My son loves cats so we booked a slot to have some tea and cakes whilst enjoying being surrounded by cats (we love a cat cafe!).

A trip to the Andover Catfe

A cat cafe is a delightful spot where you can enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while being surrounded by adorable, friendly cats. These cafes are designed to offer a cozy, relaxing atmosphere where you can unwind and interact with resident cats. It’s a purr-fect place for cat lovers who may not have pets of their own or just want to enjoy the company of cats.

Typically, these cafes have a variety of feline residents that customers can pet, play with, and sometimes even adopt. Many cat cafes also offer special events like cat yoga, painting sessions with cats, or movie nights with furry companions.

If you’re looking for a unique way to de-stress and enjoy some quality time with cats, a cat cafe is a great place to visit!

The Andover Catfe is situated in a lovely old building just off the main high street. We had never visited Andover before but found the cafe was easy to find and spent some time exploring the old high street. The front door is kept locked but we rang the bell and waited to be let in. There are 7 cats at the Andover Catfe and we were shown to our table and introduced to the cats.

We then ordered some food and drink and waited for the cats to come and say hello. Some of them were asleep but some were inquisitive and wanted to play.

There were lots of areas for the cats to sit if they didn’t want to be sociable. There were areas for them to climb and scratch and they all looked very happy and content.

We particularly loved the two Persian cats Oliver and Willow. They both looked like they owned the place and happily walked around us and let us interact with them.

We had a lovely time and our visit went quickly. Both the kids took lots of photos which is always a sign that they’re enjoying themselves.

Andover Catfe is open Friday to Sunday

I love the idea of a cat cafe, such a great way to spend a few hours.
