I like to have lots of games, books and crafts on hand during the summer holidays to keep my children occupied. We’ve only recently started playing board games together but the children love them. They are great for having family time and we’ve found after dinner is the perfect time for us all to sit down and have some fun. We were recently sent a new board game to try out called Who Tooted?. The Who Tooted? game is cheeky and irreverent fun that’s perfect for encouraging kids to have a little family time. Let’s face it, we all do…

For me one of the best things about being a blogger is the chance to work with some of my favourite brands. I’ve worked with Cath Kidston a few times now and was so excited to receive an invitation to their Autumn Winter 2016 Press Preview. I really enjoy press shows. I only go to a few of the brands I really love and I can’t wait to see their new collections before anyone else. The Cath Kidston Autumn Winter collection preview took place in a lovely venue just off Bond Street. On a very warm day earlier this summer…

Last week we took part in a really fun Go Jetters Twitter Party with Fisher-Price, CBeebies and UKMumsTV. Go Jetters is a really fun and educational programme, all about four adventure-seeking superhero Go Jetters as they explore places around planet Earth. It’s one of those programmes that I really encourage my children to watch as they learn so much from it, especially about other places around the world. We got to play lots of the new Go Jetters toys from Fisher-Price, including the Go Jetters Vroomster and the figures of Xuli, Kyan, Lars and Foz. Each comes with a souvenir…

This week Bottersnikes & Gumbles – the award-winning kids’ CGI animation show – premiered on CBBC, airing at 6pm every week day (with a repeat the following day at 3.30pm). The series brings to screen the much-loved 1970s classic children’s books by Australian author S.A. Wakefield and illustrated by Desmond Digby. In a far away forgotten valley, heaped with long abandoned junk, a timeless battle rages between good and evil… and also between squashy and scaly, happy and grumpy, clever and wily… cute and plain old ugly. This is the land of Bottersnikes and Gumbles. Each episode features the charming…

Do you remember the i-SPY books? I had a few when I was little and loved looking through them, ticking things off as I spotted them. The books have been around for 60 years and I’m pleased to say that HarperCollins have recently relaunched the series and they’re better than ever. You can still collect points to send off for a certificate! If you haven’t heard of them before, then each i-SPY activity book encourages children to discover the world around them. With photographs of each feature to look out for, and details of where to spot them, it won’t be…

A new 2016 edition of The BFG has recently been published by Puffin Books. With a new foreword by Lucy Dahl and exclusive fun activities inside, including: Draw Your Dream, BFG Draw-along with Quentin Blake, BFG Quiz and much more! The cover ties in with the film and this is sure to be a classic copy for my children’s generation. For those not familiar with the story: On a dark, silvery moonlit night, Sophie is snatched from her bed by a giant. Luckily it is the Big Friendly Giant, the BFG, who only eats snozzcumbers and glugs frobscottle. But there…

With the School holidays looming I thought you may be interested in More Colouring for Contemplation by Amber Hatch and Alex Ogg, the follow on title from the team that brought you the hugely successful Colouring for Contemplation. Colouring books for adults have seen a huge rise in popularity, this ‘new’ craft is an antidote to the stresses of modern living. In answer to this, Watkins released Colouring for Contemplation in November and a pocket edition of the same book in January. These books have received fantastic 5 star reviews across the board with positive comments on the book’s…

Yesterday we took part in an exciting Twitter Party for The Lion Guard Toys on behalf of Just Play and UK Mums TV. My 4 and 6 year old really like watching The Lion Guard so I knew they would enjoy taking part in the Twitter Party. We invited a few friends round and played lots of games including Pin the Tail on Kion the Lion, Lion Guard activity sheets, and a fun name the animal quiz. There were lots of toys too, which everyone got to play with. Our favourites were the Defend the Pride Lands play set and…
