I love crochet and it feels like this is the time of year I can start thinking about adding some autumnal decorations to our home. I’ve been making crochet maple leaves which I think would look perfect strung along some fairy lights over the mantlepiece. Although there are quite a few steps, if you know some basic crochet stitches, these crochet maple leaves come together in no time. As soon as the kids went back to school I couldn’t help thinking how to bring some Autumn vibes into our house. I found some sweet Autumnal candles in Primark which I bought and squirreled away for a few weeks. Now we’re in October I feel like I can bring out my pumpkin candles, and we have conkers and acorns which the kids have picked up on our walks. Making Autumn decor with the Autumn Craftpod I love my makes to be seasonal. We’ve made delicious gingerbread biscuits and I was delighted when my Autumn Craftpod box landed on the…

I wanted to do something a little different with my Halloween decorations this year. As the children get older they seem to enjoy simpler decorations. I’ve already had a good sort out of our Halloween decorations, getting them down from 3 boxes to 1! I’m not sure how we ended up with so many things but I was very happy to drop them off at the charity shop today. I came across some small papier mache pumpkins I had picked up a few years ago but never got round to using. When I spotted a box of Liberty scraps I…

Autumn has definitely arrived, despite that mini heatwave we enjoyed earlier this week. The days are getting shorter and we have already enjoyed homemade blackberry and apple pie! I love Autumn and I’ve been enjoying sitting with my children round the table after a day at school. We love to craft as we chat about our day and had so much with this DIY paper pumpkin garland. It makes a great decoration for Autumn and you can keep it up right up until Halloween! List of craft supplies: Coloured papers Twine, yarn or thick string Craft glue Pencil Scissors Pumpkin…

Autumn is my favourite season. I can finally wear my favourite jumpers, watch the leaves changing colour on our daily walks, and enjoy the delicious autumnal smells. The weather was gorgeous yesterday but I know it will be getting cooler and fresher any day now. Autumn is a fun season to craft with the kids. My daughter can’t help but collect leaves and acorns and the season has inspired our fun recycled scarecrow craft. You can use up craft supplies with this one – the finished scarecrow makes a great bookmark too. List of craft supplies: Craft sticks Scrap fabrics…

A few weeks ago we visited a pumpkin patch near London. We had a great time exploring the pumpkin patch and choosing our pumpkins and squashes. It’s the second time we’ve been able to visit a pumpkin patch, clearly a growing trend here in the UK. This time I made sure to take along a fun activity to keep the kids busy, our free Pumpkin Patch Scavenger Hunt printable. After our visit to the pumpkin patch over the weekend I was excited to use the pumpkins we picked to decorate our home. We made sure to pick as many varieties as we could to make a really colourful pumpkin display. I bought a cheap and cheerful wooden plaque blank for Hobbycraft and used my Cricut Maker to cut a cute little vinyl decal. It looks super cute! It is well and truly Autumn here in the UK. It’s my favourite time of year and I love watching the leaves on the trees change colour. I’ve lost count of the number of ‘treasures’ my daughter keeps presenting me with every time we leave the house. She’s as drawn to conkers and acorns as I am and I keep finding little piles of them all over the house. Our Autumn Bucket List There are some great activities you can do with the kids during Autumn so I thought I would make an Autumn Bucket List of the things we…

I don’t know about you, but have you noticed the evenings getting darker earlier? The sun is still warm but when it goes down you notice how chilly it gets. We certainly felt Autumnal when we were camping last week, but we made the most of it (and came home with a stash of blackberries!). Autumn is my favourite month. I love looking out for the signs of Autumn, picking blackberries, looking for conkers, and walks in the woods where you can watch the leaves changing colour and falling. {Free printable} Fall bookmarks to colour Today I wanted to share…
