We are a family which loves Lego. We have more Lego sets than we can display in our living room and my 6 year old have a Lego collection to rival any adult. He has a homemade Lego table and storage system which I have previously written about but we’ve recently bought him a new bed and changed his room around and he basically is not interested in keeping his Lego sets separate (much to my annoyance!).
Our Lego storage is pretty simple; named drawers for each type, so Lego Minecraft, Lego Arctic, Lego Superheroes, Lego Star Wars, etc. It doesn’t really work as he seems to get some Lego sets out, tries to break and re-build them and fail. They soon start to cover his Lego table and he ends up with pieces of Lego everywhere. Then he gets frustrated when his Lego pieces get mixed up and he can’t find anything.
I’m sure he’s not the only child to do this so when I heard about the BlokPod I thought it might be really useful for us. Blokpod is an adaptive revolutionary cylinder shaped speed sorting and storage device and we received one to review. We use ours for Lego bricks but you can use them for other small toys too.
A simple twist unlocks the Blokpod’s top. Once open you pour in your different sized bricks, twist the container to lock and shake back and forth. The shaking motion separates the blocks by size which makes it so much easier to find the right sized brick! You can see what happens here:

This is such a cool idea. I used to love lego! Hopefully when my baby girl is big enough she’ll love it too.
I saw this on Facebook and wondered whether it would work. My children love LEGO so this might be something to think about for them.
