    Five Happy Things {Week 445}

    Starting the week by writing the Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. This is my chance to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write. Five Happy Things {Week 445} Over the weekend we enjoyed an amazing walk around Old Park Wood Nature Reserve in Harefield to see the bluebells. There was a great show of them throughout the woods and were really lovely to see (despite the rain!). The children both took…

    A guided tour of The Treasurer’s House York

    It seems a while ago since we’ve used our membership cards and visited a National Trust property. We don’t seem to use our membership during the winter months but now it’s Spring we have made a list of all the places we would like to visit this year. With a few days away in York we knew we wanted to visit The Treasurer’s House in the centre of York. A guided tour of The Treasurer’s House York Admission to The Treasurer’s House is only by guided tour, which was stipulated by the donor, Frank Green back in the 1930s. We…

    The Cats Whiskers York {Cat Cafe review}

    We’ve been enjoying a mini break in the beautiful city of York. It’s been a long time since my last visit and I thought it would be a fun place to visit with the kids. We found a sweet little Airbnb within walking distance of the city centre and booked some family-friendly activities for us. So far we’ve visited The National Railway Museum, Jorvik Viking Centre and the Treasurer’s House. Whilst exploring the streets of York we came across The Cat’s Whiskers, a Cat Cafe. My son just loves cats and really wanted to visit, luckily I was able to…

    March crafting

    March has flown by, probably because we had a couple of birthdays and Mothers Day to celebrate. I consciously made more effort to pick up my sewing projects, which was the perfect antidote to spending my day in front of the computer. March crafting The first hoop I stitched in March was this cute ‘Mummy & Me’ embroidery hoop kit from Stitch with Skye. It features a Mother and Child with floral blooms on a 6” embroidery hoop. I haven’t made anything for Mother’s Day for a while and enjoyed stitching something a little different. The second hoop was this…
