    Duck Tape Easter Eggs

I have a large Duck Tape collection which I love to both look at and use. My children love Duck Tape too, especially when they discovered they could wear them as bracelets or hide their cars inside them. I like to actually use them for crafting and yesterday made some fun Easter decorations – Duck Tape Easter Eggs. They are pretty simple to make but worth sharing. How to make chalkboard Easter eggs

Earlier this month I bought a huge tin of chalkboard paint at my local DIY store. I made a magnetic Scrabble board which I keep meaning to tell you all about. There was a lot of paint leftover so I used some to make chalkboard Easter eggs. Here’s how I did it – Equipment needed to make chalkboard Easter eggs: Styrofoam eggs Chalkboard paint Brush White Spirit Chalk How to make chalkboard Easter eggs: First I painted my styrofoam eggs. This was a little tricky as they were small and slippy so I found an empty box, put four pins…

    Monday happy things

This is my weekly opportunity to remember some of my highlights of the previous week and it’s been pretty busy. We really enjoyed a trip to The Art of The Brick exhibition on Brick Lane. It features over 100 models by artist Nathan Sawaya all made from Lego and was pretty inspiring. Whilst out in the West End we spotted a couple of decorated Shaun the Sheep statues. My favourite was the one sponsored by Cath Kidston near their Covent Garden store. Little Sis loved being a Princess thanks to some Disney Magic at the Cinderella exhibition we scored free…

Creating a reading corner for children

I have always loved to read so it’s no surprise that I wanted my children to love reading too. They’ve been members of the local library since they were weeks old and we regularly attend Storytime sessions and read before bed. I wanted to create a book corner for my children in each of their bedrooms. They both have quite different taste in books and I wanted to make sure they had easy access to their books but also be able to keep them tidy too 🙂 For the past few years we’ve used a fantastic cardboard box from bigbooklittlebookcardboardbox.…

    Liberty floral pendant decoration

I have a bit of a crush on Liberty fabric. I have a few pieces and slip them into quilts and little makes whenever I can. I own a few off cuts which were two small to use in any projects but I found a great use for them. Liberty floral pendant decoration Have you seen these gorgeous kiko glass pendants from Nkuku? I treated myself to a set of 6 last year but haven’t really done anything with them until now. They measure a couple of inches and are the perfect size to hold a scrap of Liberty print…

    Monthly Makes – March

You may be surprised to hear that the patchwork part of my Union flag quilt is nearly finished. I know I said I was going to put it aside this month to concentrate on some other sewing projects but I really enjoy working on it. I ran out of hexagons so have been making a few each evening and trying to think about how I want to finish it off. I ordered the backing fabric from Elephant in my Handbag which is actually a Nautical Pink Pirate Bundle by Dear Stella. The fabrics feature small anchors, Jolly Rogers and a…

Tales Of The Start Of Spring

Do you give gifts at Easter? I’d love to say I was organised enough to arrange Easter baskets for my children but so far they just have their favourite character Easter eggs to unwrap. Today we received a copy of Tales Of The Start Of Spring to review. It’s the first ever DVD collection of episodes from the new animated series Peter Rabbit and I think it would make a great gift for little ones. Follow our hero Peter and his friends Benjamin Bunny and Lily Bobtail on their adventures as they encounter real dangers, overcome obstacles and outsmart predators,…
