Creating a reading corner for children

I have always loved to read so it’s no surprise that I wanted my children to love reading too. They’ve been members of the local library since they were weeks old and we regularly attend Storytime sessions and read before bed.

I wanted to create a book corner for my children in each of their bedrooms. They both have quite different taste in books and I wanted to make sure they had easy access to their books but also be able to keep them tidy too 🙂

For the past few years we’ve used a fantastic cardboard box from bigbooklittlebookcardboardbox. I don’t think the company exists any more but the cardboard box we had has lasted for the past 4 years and is still growing strong.

However, I wanted something a little more grown up for Little Sis and was delighted to be sent the Greenaway Gallery Bookcase from Great Little Trading Company to review.

The bookcase is available in a couple of different colours but we chose white to compliment Little Sis’s bedroom which is pale pink. Her room is lovely but she needed a little help to keep things tidy.

The gallery bookcase consists of four shelves and is wall mounted. It was easy to assemble (according to my lovely husband) and it’s lovely and sturdy. Little Sis has managed to arrange her books by height and most importantly she can see the front covers. It also helps to free up floor space so there’s more space to play.

Disclosure – Children’s furniture is available from Great Little Trading Company and we were kindly sent the gallery bookcase in return for review.

Thanks, it’s definitely a space saver – more room for toys!
