Last week I went to the Hobbycraft Halloween and Christmas preview. There were so many lovely products to inspire me (and hopefully you too!). I can’t wait to get my hands on some of their new products and get crafting. I was given a roll of the new Disney Frozen Duck Tape which will be available very soon. I knew I wanted to make something special with it so made a Frozen Duck Tape pocket money wallet for my daughter. She has just started receiving pocket money and I wanted her to have somewhere to keep her pennies. Time to make: 30 mins…

Did you know that tomorrow is National Ice Cream Day? The weather has been bright and sunny today so we enjoyed ice creams when we were out for a walk. After dinner we made some delicious Eton Mess desserts with Kelly’s of Cornwall ice cream and Clark’s delicious dessert toppings. Eton mess is a well known English dessert consisting of strawberries, pieces of meringue, and cream, traditionally served at Eton College’s annual cricket game against Harrow School. It is one of my favourite Summer desserts so we made our own version today. Ingredients needed to make Eton Mess: Punnet of…

Did you ever play with Sylvanian Families when you were younger? This year they are celebrating their 30th anniversary and I’m excited to be able to re-visit my childhood toys with my daughter. If you follow me on Instagram you might have noticed we’ve picked up some amazing vintage Sylvanian Families toys lately. My favourite have to be the canal boat and bus – perfect for transporting your little Sylvanians on their adventures! Little Sis was the lucky recipient of some new toys from the Sylvanian Families range. I love the fact that new families and accessories are constantly being…

I love subscription boxes and if they are full of a carefully selected mix of Japanese and Korean kawaii products even better. Last week the June Kawaii Box landed on my doorstep and I waited until my children were occupied at school before I opened it. It arrived beautifully packaged in a sturdy cardboard box. I peeled the layer of tissue paper to see what was waiting for me. Inside were 12 fun kawaii items including stationery, bag charms, candy and nail art. My favourite without a doubt was the smiling poop sharpener. However my children took this away from me…

We’ve been reading a lot of books lately and one of our favourites’ is Stick Man by Julia Donaldson and Axel Scheffler. “Stick Man lives in the family tree With his Stick Lady Love and their stick children three.” But it’s dangerous being a Stick Man. A dog wants to play with him, a swan builds her nest with him. He even ends up on a fire! Will he ever get back to the family tree? Last year we made our own Stick Man from a stick. My children are always picking up sticks and leaves from our walks and…

I’m back with my monthly Mollie Makes make. I loved the look of the latest kit which was an Easy Sew Banner Kit. I love banners and have made some paper motivational banners with my children, as well as a fabric motivational banner for a recent swap. Jenny Makes Mollie Makes Easy Sew Banner Kit The Mollie Makes Easy Sew Banner Kit contained red and white fabric, pre-cut felt shapes, a piece of dowel, needles and thread. I wanted to make this kit straight away but finished my Union Jack quilt first. This wall hanging kit was a lovely simple…

This is the first year that I’ve been more interested in our garden. Our garden is a great size with lawn, patio and plenty of space for the children’s toys. I’ve tried a couple of projects, such as upcycling a pallet into a planter and building the children a mud kitchen from another pallet. I was in need of some more inspiration and just at the right time I received a copy of Garden Made to review. Stephanie Rose is the author of the popular gardening blog Garden Therapy. Her blog is easy to read and packed full of fun…

I can’t believe we are 10 days away from the Summer holidays! This term is really rushing by. Top of my list of things which made my happy this is surviving the parents race at Sports Day! I hated Sports Day when I was at school but I’m pleased to say both my children loved theirs this year. I was so happy to be challenged to decorate a teepee by Hobbycraft and write a post for the Hobbycaft blog. We were sent a teepee and some craft supplies and the whole family had lots of fun decorating it. We experimented…

My goal for the first half of this year was to complete the Union flag quilt. A couple of days late but I’m pleased to say this weekend I went to Quilt Camp, otherwise known as my mum’s house, and finished it. I fell in love with the pattern as soon as I saw it in Hexa-Go-Go: English Paper Piecing 16 Quilt Projects by Tacha Bruecher. Union Jack flag quilt I really enjoyed collecting the red, white and blue fabrics for it and picked it up every couple of weeks. My progress was slow but last month I finished piecing…
