Every month I challenge myself to make the Mollie Makes magazine cover gift. I’ve subscribed since it first came out and have a drawer full of unopened kits – but no more. I’ve been making more time for crafting and I love to try something new with each of the cover gifts. Mollie Makes Papercut Book Issue 63 came with a really cool Mollie Makes Papercut Book. I love paper craft and I was so excited to see this. I enjoyed making the last paper gems kit from the last issue, there’s just something lovely about working with such an…

This year we are working with Staedtler again and were sent one of the many FIMO Accessories to try out and tell you about. My 5 year old loves crafting with Fimo but sometimes he needs a little help with his creations, which is where Fimo Accessories come in. How to make a heart keepsake with Fimo We received the Hearts Clay Mould and have been having some fun with it. First we tried using Fimo with it as it is suitable for use with a range of materials including Fimo but also food stuffs. You can see the Clay…

Did you have a favourite tv programme when you were a child? I loved the Clangers and Rentaghost and I’m glad the Clangers are still around for my children to enjoy. My 5 year old loves Tiny, Small and Major and somehow an episode of the Clangers has made it into his bedtime routine. Make your own Clanger inspired gingerbread biscuits I thought I should whip up some gingerbread Clanger biscuits for him as an after school treat. I used the light gingerbread recipe from Gingerbread Wonderland which I also used for our Gingerbread Iron Golem biscuits and copied a…

We’ve been Playmobil Playologists for the last few years and my children absolutely love receiving Playmobil eggs for Easter. They receive plenty of chocolate eggs from friends and family so these plastic eggs and toys are a great alternative. This year they were sent two of the Playmobil Eggs. There are 4 different toys available, each in a different coloured plastic shell. Little Sis received the Mermaid with Seahorses and Big Brother the Soccer Player with Goal. Both eggs contained lots of pieces so you need to build the toys. Neither took very long to put together and each toy…

Today I wanted to share the latest subscription box I have tried. I love to sew so I thought I would try a subscription box from My Fabric House. I bought myself the Explore Package for £10 and a little parcel arrived containing 4 pieces of fabric, some bobble trim, ribbon, appliques and buttons. I love the colours of the fabric and had the perfect project in mind for the strawberry fabric. A while ago my Instagram feed was full of the most gorgeous patchwork letters, which were a free pieced alphabet from Moda and their amazing designers. I really…

Sometimes I love being a blogger as I get the chance to work with some great craft brands. We’ve been working with Baker Ross for a while now and were delighted to receive a bundle of their new craft supplies to make some Valentine’s Day art. Every year we love to give handmade cards and we’ll be continuing this tradition this year thanks to Baker Ross. We used the Craft-it! foam sheets and Craft-it! large picture frames to create some unique hand print art. We’ll show you the steps we went through so you can make it too! Hand print…

I have tech savvy children. Yes, at the grand old ages of 4 and 5 they already seem far more confident than I am with a laptop and technology in general. I think this can only be a good thing and I am keen to teach them good habits and the importance of safety online. Have you heard of Safer Internet Day? It will take place on the 9th February with the theme Play your part for a better internet! Co-ordinated in the UK by the UK Safer Internet Centre the celebration sees hundreds of organisations get involved to help promote the safe, responsible and positive use of…

It’s been a while since I shared any gingerbread related crafts with you so I’m happy to be sharing our Book Inspired Crafts and Activities for Kids with you today. One of our favourite books is The Gingerbread Man and we enjoyed making peg dolls inspired by the story. The Gingerbread Man inspired peg dolls You will need: 4 x wooden pegs paint felt scissors sticky dots permanent pen The first step is to take four wooden pegs and paint them. I’ve managed to visit quite a few exhibitions lately. There are so many great things showing in London and this year I am going to make sure I make time to see them! So far this year I’ve seen the Alice in Wonderland exhibition at the British Library. Last weekend the whole family visited the Museum of London and the The Crime Museum Uncovered exhibition. This wasn’t our first attempt to go and see the exhibition. We bought tickets before Christmas but they were for the day after the latest terror attack in Paris and we didn’t feel like heading…
