    A Fairy Trail in the Woods {Clanger Wood }

    A few weeks ago we were staying at my mum’s in Wiltshire. We wanted to go and see some bluebells so headed to Clanger Woods. This is a lovely little area managed by the Woodland Trust. We parked up and spotted a poster which read ‘FAIRY TRAIL’. Now, my children love fairy play so I thought this would help keep them occupied as we walked through the woods. We looked a little closer and found another more detailed poster which read: Welcome to the Nature Detectives Fairy Trail – Blue and Belle are woodland fairies and they need your help!…

    Apple print butterflies {A-Z Play at Home series}

    Today I am starting a new series on my blog – the A-Z Play at Home blog hop organised by Teach Me Mommy. The idea is lovely and simple – to use everyday objects around the home for crafting or a learning activity. The first letter is A so I challenged my 7 year old to come up with something. He chose acrylic paint, as this is something that our house is full of, and apples. So we combined the two to make some awesome apple print butterflies, read on for our tutorial. Equipment to make apple print butterflies: An apple cut…

    Star Wars Day wreath {decorating for Star Wars Day}

    My children have embraced Star Wars Day as they do Easter and Christmas. To them it’s completely normal to decorate our little indoor seasonal tree with Star Wars decorations. This year we decorated our little tree and made a Star Wars Day wreath! Decorating for Star Wars Day We hung the little Star Wars toys which came with Kinder Eggs which both my children collected. They were the strangest mash up of a figure and vehicle I’ve ever seen but each one came with a little hanger – perfect for hanging on a tree! We managed to get the complete…

    Celebrating Star Wars Day {with ittybittys and Hallmark}

    Surely everyone in the galaxy knows what day it is today? Yes, not only is it May the 4th but it is also Star Wars Day and we are so excited to be celebrating it and sharing some of Hallmark’s Star Wars merchandise with you. Like all fellow Jedi’s across the galaxy, Hallmark are celebrating Star Wars Month with a bang! Whether you’re a Skywalker or a Solo, a Leia or an Obi-Wan, there is something for everyone with Hallmark’s Star Wars merchandise. We were sent a special box of Star Wars goodies to open on Star Wars Day. My 7…

    12 Star Wars inspired food and drink ideas {Star Wars Day}

    Since having children it feels like I’ve embraced Star Wars a little more each year. This year we are celebrating Star Wars Day with decorations and hopefully some food! My 7 year old is the biggest Star Wars fan, despite my attempts to introduce other things. Now I just embrace it along with him, and know far more than I need to about Star War characters and the galaxy. To bring it back to my comfort area I make sure we do plenty of Star Wars crafts! Thank goodness for Pinterest! May the 4th is Star Wars Day although it…

    Marvel Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 Electronic Music Mix Star-Lord

    Are you excited about Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2? Star-Lord is my favourite super hero and I love Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1. The film is all about a group of intergalactic criminals who are forced to work together to stop a fanatical warrior from taking control of the universe. It has the best bunch of misfits I’ve ever seen and I admit to watching this film whenever I can. It’s worth watching for Star-Lord, aka Chris Pratt (swoon!), but I also love his intergalactic criminals friends, and soundtrack is brilliant too. What’s not to like? I’m hoping to get to the cinema…

    How to display Lego Minifigures

    If you’re a mum of small people, or perhaps married to a Lego nerd, then you may have a house full of Lego minifigs. Now I love Lego Minifigs, especially since they did some amazing collabs such as the Disney one. Oh yes, I couldn’t wait to collect those and quickly did, thanks to the lovely staff at our local toy shop who could identify a blind bag in seconds. My husband collected the first series of the Simpsons, and my 7 year old recently collected the Batman series. This left us with a problem. How to display a collection…

    Monday happy things {Week 135}

    Happy May Day! Last week was a full week with everyone back at work and school and was therefore pretty tiring. Thank goodness for a lovely long Bank Holiday weekend! Time for my weekly round up of the 5 things which have made me happiest. Monday happy things – Week 135 Last week my son started Gardening Club and I managed to get my daughter a place at Street Dance. This means we are ridiculously busy after school but I’m glad they have the opportunity to try new things. The choir I sing with started again for the Summer term…

    Paw Patrol inspired cupcakes

    My 5 year old demanded we bake some cakes this weekend and she knew just what she wanted to make – Paw Patrol inspired cupcakes. She’s been a big fan of those Paw Patrols pups since she started nursery last year and her obsession shows no sign of waning just yet. Paw Patrol inspired cupcakes Paw Patrol inspired cupcakes were pretty easy to make. We made a simple but delicious chocolate batter and filled some cute cases with the mixture. My daughter loves licking the spoons and bowls and could do this all day long. When the cupcakes were baked…
