Win a copy of The Power of the Pencil

Win a copy of The Power of the Pencil

Posted on May 23, 2017 by jenny

I find that being creative is the perfect way for me to relax. I love all sorts of crafts from colouring books to papercutting, hand sewing to baking. Anything goes but it’s always nice to try new things and challenge myself. Creativity means different things to different people but it can be as simple as picking up a pencil. In case you don’t think you are creative or are in need of a little help then I have a lovely giveaway for you today.

The Power of the Pencil: Draw, Sketch, Doodle & Play with a Pencil by Guy Field.

Lovingly put together by quirky illustrator Guy Field, this playful and practical book starts with the basics, discussing which pencils you need in your personal drawing toolkit, then goes on to give tips and methods for drawing everything from a self-portrait to your evening meal. It revisits the work of famous pencil-wielders like Leonardo da Vinci, and uncovers the secrets of more advanced techniques such as using tracing paper and drawing the perfect freehand circle.

Packed with pencil tips, tricks and a huge sense of fun, The Power of the Pencil is the perfect way to bring the joy of drawing into your life.
