DIY Num Noms Easter Egg Hunt

We’re so happy that the Easter holidays have started. I have 2 weeks with my children and lots of fun ideas to keep them occupied. Today we had a DIY Num Noms Easter Egg Hunt at home. The weather has been terrible but this kept them busy. DIY Num Noms Easter Egg Hunt We had been sent a Num Noms Lunch Box as well as a Num Noms Easter Egg Hunt sheet and game instructions. I hid the Num and Noms inside plastic eggs and then placed them all over the house. Each child had a Num Noms Easter Egg Hunt sheet…

    Aquabeads Easter egg bookmarks

A few weeks ago we were challenged to make something for the house with Aquabeads. My children are *obsessed* with Aquabeads and we have a lot of their creations around the house. Sometimes it’s nice to actually use their creations around the house. With Easter coming up my daughter has been making a lot of Aquabeads Easter eggs. She didn’t follow a pattern, just made patterns with the beads. I’ve told you before how much fun we have with Aquabeads. They are so simple to use, simply make patterns with the beads and the fix with a spray of water.…

Disney on Ice and planning for Easter

Argh, the children break up today! I still have blog posts to write, the house to clean, the food shopping to do and the spare room to get ready for my mum. We have all our birthday cards up and the house is full of balloons from my son’s birthday party at the weekend. Don’t worry if you have been caught unawares by the Easter holidays too. I’ve written a few blog posts which might just help: Easter treats on Netflix Family friendly Easter events in and around London Things to put in an Easter crate for kids How to…

How to make your own candles

As you all know, 2018 is my Year of Craft. I’m trying to work my way through my craft stash, my wall of craft books and piles of fabric. The idea is to make the craft kits, weed out some of the unwanted books, and use up the fabric before I buy anymore. I have to admit that the last few weeks have been so busy I haven’t had time to make much. I’ve done a small amount of paper cutting and a stash of projects to make over Easter. With guests coming for Easter I wanted to up my…

    Washi tape Easter eggs

This year I’ve tried to not buy any new Easter decorations. I’m really trying to cut down our use of single-use plastics and using up what we have before we buy anything. In our Easter box we had a *lot* of plastic re-fillable eggs. They are perfect for an Easter egg hunt at home. Recently I was sent a bundle of Duck Tape washi tape. It’s been a while since I crafted with washi tape. Have you heard of it? It’s a Japanese tape which is easy to tear and easy to re-position and great for crafting with. I thought…

Paper plate Easter basket and sponge print eggs

Yesterday I finally finished shopping for Easter eggs! Easter seems to get bigger and bigger every year but I’ve been working hard to make sure the family have some delicious Easter gifts to open and enjoy this weekend. We’ll be taking down all our birthday cards this week and we’ve been busy making some of our own Easter decorations to hang up. Yesterday the weather was beautiful and sunny (not so today unfortunately) and we had some messy, paint-y, after school fun with our paper plate Easter basket and sponge print egg activity. Read on for the full tutorial. Items…

Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things

Happy Monday everyone. Hope you had a great weekend. I love starting off each week by writing my Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things blog post. It’s a great chance to reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week. Monday mindfulness – 5 happy things We had a really busy weekend. There was so much going on which was fun, but a little hectic. I love Spring – the clocks have gone forward and there’s more daylight. The kids can’t wait to play outside after school, especially since we let them clean the trampoline. We’ve been planning some…

World of Warriors game for PlayStation 4

I am just about recovering from my son’s 8th birthday party today. He invited a bunch of his friends round to play console games. I planned everything so playing games online would be balanced by fun in the garden too. They are a confident bunch of boys and it was interesting watching them play together. They love their console games and my husband even rushed out yesterday to buy another DUAL SHOCK 4 controller, and went round to borrow another one from a friend! There’s nothing worse that having friends around but not enough controllers for everyone to play! Anyway,…
