Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write. Monday Happy List {Week 332} Half term was great but hard work. We love our house but missed making plans to see family and friends. We went on lots of dog walks in rain, wind and sunshine! Some of our usual activities continued online and the children…

We’ve had lots of fun crafting over half term. The weather has been pretty poor so we’ve stayed in a lot. We are lucky to have plenty of crafts and toys to occupy us. We have a large box of hama beads which we got out one day. We’ve had the box for years but the contents never seen to go down. Just in case you haven’t heard of the hit game set in space, you play as either Crewmates or an Impostor. Crewmates try to identify the Impostors, eliminate them, and complete tasks around the map; the Impostors’ goal…

Half term has been hard work. Although my children needed a break from 6 weeks of school work, it’s been super tough not having much to do. We made plans and lists of things we wanted to do but these have been broken up by meal times and dog walks – not our usual half term days out and trips away. I’m hoping that this will be our last half term stuck at home. We’re lucky to have a lovely home but nothing beats a day out at a new place, seeing family and friends. We have dug very deep…

It’s been a while since I shared a sewing project but this year I’ve already finished far more projects than normal. I’ve fallen back in love with English Paper Piecing which is something I’ve always loved. I find the whole process really therapeutic – from choosing fabrics to making up my fabric hexagons and stitching them together – it’s the perfect mindful craft. I wanted to craft something seasonal for Valentines Day and decided to make an English Paper Pieced piece of hoop art. I’ve recently started displaying all my finished embroidery hoops and wanted to add some EPP shapes to…

It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to write. Monday Happy List {Week 331} We made it to half term and I couldn’t be happier – or more in need of a break. I’ve been working in a secondary school throughout the third lockdown which has been strange. My son finally returned to school too…

Our quick and easy Valentine STEM activity is great for kids who love to try science at home. February has been a creative month for us with the kids learning from home and we’ve set up a lot of STEM experiments at home for fun. This month we’ve experimented with dissolving Love Hearts and made tangram hearts. We love science at home and growing your own crystals is a fun way to explore STEM subjects. Epsom Salt pipe cleaner hearts equipment All you will need to try this at home is a bag of Epsom Salt (I bought mine from…

My kids love to craft with our pup and with Valentines Day coming up they wanted to make something special. We made him his own puppy costume for Halloween so it seemed only right to make him something to celebrate Valentines Day. This year we made a special kissing booth for him! You can make your own dog kissing booth with a cardboard box and some paint! DIY puppy kissing booth First we made the kissing booth from a large cardboard box. We cut a large slot out of the front of the box so our dog could sit in…
