Starting my week with The Weekly Edit is a ritual I’ve kept for years. It’s my favourite Monday morning anchor—a chance to slow down, celebrate the ‘small wins,’ and gather the smiles from the week behind us. Part reflection and part record-keeping, it’s my way of documenting our family’s adventures before the next chapter begins.
The Weekly Edit {Week 35/2026}
We enjoyed a long weekend away over the Bank Holiday weekend. We had lots of delicious meals out, visited some castles and finally hit 400 geocaches.
My son’s new sim rig arrived for his new cabin. It’s looking pretty complete now and I know he will get a lot of use out of his new space. Hopefully he will be able to use his bedroom to study and his cabin for gaming and keep the two separate.
The youngest teen encouraged me to buy my own cosy colouring book rather than share hers. I used to have a lot of adult colouring books and these feel similar but cuter. We took our colouring books away over the weekend and enjoyed some quiet colouring time away from our screens.
My latest book is Eleanor: a 200-mile walk in search of England’s Lost Queen by Alice Loxton. I saw this a while ago and love a history book. It’s very easy to read and I’m enjoying learning about the life of Eleanor.
You can tell the days are getting a little shorter as I finished watching The Boroughs on Netflix. It’s been a good few months since I binge watched anything decent but the cooler temperatures mean I’m happy to sit down with a new show. The Boroughs was a bit different to anything I’ve previously watched but I enjoyed it.
