The Monthly Thread: February’s lino cuts & an Irish Chain mini

I love the start of a new year. Each month I love to write a round up of what I’ve been making. This helps me to see what I’ve made, and holds me accountable for projects half started or bought. This year I’m calling my series The Monthly Thread. February’s post is all about lino cuts & an Irish Chain mini.

February was a great month for us to get creative, especially with Shrove Tuesday, lots of birthday celebrations and a few days away on the south coast. I feel like I got through the atrocious weather and longer days with some fun, crafty projects. I’m an analogue kinda girl and I love that more and more people are taking us the analogue life this year. Hopefully my post will inspire you!

I love having a jigsaw on the go and completed a puzzle based on an artwork by Laura Wall. It was on the puzzle board for a while but this was the month we completed it. We also did a fun puzzle featuring colourful seed packets.

My teen loves to bake and baked a batch of mini snow globe cookies. These were a bit Christmassy but she did them all by herself, I’m so glad she is getting more confident in the kitchen.

I finished the two projects in my autumn Craftpod subscription box. These are the most thoughtful craft boxes and a real treat to receive each quarter. The two projects were lino cutting and a lunar underwing moth embroidery.

I stitched an Irish Chain mini doll quilt for our maileg mice. It’s something I’ve wanted to make for a while and really enjoyed. I used to make loads of doll quilts for my daughter, now she’s a teen, we make mini!

Ages ago we collected the Lego Minifigure F1 Collectible racing cars and framed them for the other teen. We love minifigures but they are so hard to display and take up space we just don’t have. We used a frame from Ikea and they look so much better displayed in a frame.

We’ve been using our Preusa Mk3 to make more decorations for our Lego inspired 3D wreath. We made this to display at Christmas and enjoy having it on display so much that we decided to keep it up all year. We added hearts for Valentines day!

I hope you’ve had time for yourself too. Let me know what you’ve been making in the comments below.
