What I made in January 2025

The longest month of the year is finally over! January is my least favourite month so this year I set myself a few projects to complete. I hoped this would make the month go a little quicker, seeing the weeks pass through the finished projects on my work table.

The first project completed was this sweet little log cabin embroidery hoop. This was a free cover gift which I had started but not finished. It only took a few hours to finish.

My second completed project was the cute gingerbread house embroidery hoop, another free cover gift with an embroidery magazine. I had started this, but not finished. I give up easily. I have a few embroidered gingerbread houses so this was a sweet addition.

Despite Christmas being over I wanted to stitch this gingerbread felt manor house pincushion. This was a charity pattern from Pretty Fabrics and Trim and I used felt I already had in my stash. The pieces were fun to embroider, although I failed to master fly stitch!

My final January make was this felt key, based on a pattern from Nuvolina Handmade. I adapted it slightly by making it larger and added a small heart in glitter felt. I made this for the Benzie Design Valentine Exchange.

These are the things I stitched to get me through the month, so it worked out as a small project each week. My desk feels pretty cluttered though, still plenty of projects to keep me going!
