If you are looking for a fun craft to celebrate St Patricks Day then I have a lovely craft to share today. My daughter loves to read so we had a lot of fun designing these felt shamrock corner bookmarks. Use felt and thread to create them and you will never lose your page again.
List of supplies:
Felt (I used white, light green and dark green)
Needle
Matching threads
Pencil or fabric marker
A pair of scissors
Free felt shamrock template
How to make a felt shamrock bookmark
Prepare the template patterns and select different shades of green coloured felt. Trace the shamrock layers on different shades of green felts and select a different coloured felt for the bookmark base, I used white. Trace and cut out the patterns.
Take the 2 small layers and place the smallest shamrock layer cutout on the medium layer cutout.
Hold or pin both layers firmly and place them on the big layer, in the middle. Prepare needle with matching thread.
Stitch the small layer and make sure to join all 3 layers together.
Now, place the joined layers on a bookmark base.
Stitch along the side of the big shamrock layer to join it with the bookmark base.
You can skip the parts of the shamrock that cross the bookmark base.
Make sure to stitch all around to join it with the base. Take the other base cutout.
Place the plain base cutout below the stitched one and prepare needle with thread matched with the base felt.
Stitch along the straight sides of the bookmark bases, leaving the round edges open. Tie a knot or 2 and cut off extra thread when you’re done.
We love a corner bookmark and these make a fun craft to celebrate St Patricks Day. Let me know if you make one.
