Starting the week by writing the Monday Happy List is something I’ve been doing for a while. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures. It’s a post I always love to sit down and write. I’m mixing things up a little by posting this weekly post on Sunday instead of Monday!
Sunday Happy Things {Week 424}
Last week my daughter was chosen for the Netball team and the Athletics team. She had a lot of fun and the school came second in the athletics competition. We are hoping that will be enough to get through to the next round of the competition.
I’m still reading Yours Cheerfully by A J Pearce. It’s a fun book set during the Second World War, really easy to read which is what I need right now.
To celebrate my daughter’s birthday we booked an escape room at Escape Hunt Watford. She chose the Alice in Puzzleland room and we had a lot of fun trying to solve the clues to escape in time. We managed to solve it in 53 minutes and only needed a few extra clues.
I finished my folk art gingerbread house hoop whilst watching all these shows. It’s a busy time of year but so lovely to have something to pick up in the evenings. I found a sweet Christmas pattern in Love Embroidery magazine so I’ve started stitching. It uses metallic perle thread which is really strange to stitch with but will give a lovely effect.
We watched See How They Run, a 1950s comedy mystery film set in London, as well as The Wonder, set in 1862 Ireland about a nurse who is sent to investigate an alleged supernatural miracle. Both of these were on Netflix. We also started watching the science fiction mini-series 1899 which is pretty good so far.
Have a great week!

December 5, 2022 at 3:09 pmWonderful to hear about all the lovely things you and your family have been doing. I am currently reading The Lido by Libby Page for my book group and really enjoying this as well.
