Siblings {June 2017}

Siblings {June 2017}

Posted on June 15, 2017November 2, 2025 by jenny

Blogging is feeling like hard work since I started my new job. Working outside of the home is tiring and I’m beginning to resent the constant emails I receive which expect so much in return for so little. It’s not why I started blogging and I’m not sure how I’ve got stuck in such a rut.

So I’ve decided to spend time writing about the things I want to – my children. I’m not sure what they’re both going through at the moment (other than perhaps a slightly stressed mum with a new job) but Little Sis has been quite poorly and Big Brother is a bit of an emotional mess. He has permanent tummy ache, hayfever and wobbly teeth. Most of the time they are on pretty good form though.

Although half term was a few weeks ago it’s the memories we created then that have been keeping me going recently. I love spending time as a family and it’s easy to forget the good times when you have broken nights sleep, sheets to change at 4 in the morning and tired, grumpy children to deal with.

Fortunately we’ve squeezed in a few adventures since half term. There were Pooh Sticks at the local stream, some fun unboxing videos to make and a Beaver nature trail to name a few. We’re currently making plans for the Summer and I can’t wait to spend more time with them without the distractions of school and clubs.

    That’s good that you’re focusing on blogging about what you enjoy, that’s what blogging should be about x

    Oh no, hope your kids will feel better soon. I know how difficult is to balance blog&work life, it was a nightmare for me before I went full-time blogging.

    Hope both your children get better soon, I suffered with my stomach when I was younger and it definitely isn’t a pleasant experience!

    I think blogs can lose there purpose sometimes so I am glad you are writing about things you want to. I can’t wait to be able to join the siblings tag, I would love to give my daughter a sibling x

    Sometimes staying focused with blogging is hard – I get in those ruts but when you begin to share and write about what you love it can make it easier to get out of that rut. Hope they feel better x

    Juggling blogging and a day job can seem so tedious, but it’s great to go back to why one started blogging and why it makes us joyful. x
