You know that our family are huge fans of the author Julia Donaldson. My children have nearly all of her books, especially those illustrated with Axel Scheffler, but their favourite is easily The Gruffalo. We’ve had great fun exploring the themes of the book and wanted to share some great Gruffalo crafts with you today.
Take a look at my list of 15 brilliant Gruffalo activities for kids:
Ways to explore the story:
Gruffalo Story Stones from the gingerbread house and Gruffalo Story Sack from the fairy and the frog, perfect for encouraging little story tellers. Or how about making some Gruffalo play dough from the imagination tree which is great for letting imaginations run riot .
Gruffalo-inspired crafts:
Mud Hut Mama shows you how to make a fun Gruffalo pinata which would be perfect for a birthday party. You could also go on a Gruffalo hunt with toddler approved which would be fun for kids to run off some energy! I love Mama Pea Pod’s Gruffalo Puppet Theatre which looks so much fun. Some of my other favourite Gruffalo crafts are a Gruffalo mask from motherhood on a dime, Gruffalo toilet roll craft from here come the girls, Gruffalo tracks from toddler approved, Gruffalo puppets from coffee cups and crayons and Gruffalo Window Clings from Mama Pea Pod.
Gruffalo inspired food:
I love the recipe for Gruffalo crumble from rubber boots and elf shoes. You could try these fun Gruffalo cupcakes from the gingerbread house, Gruffalo Crumble Cupcakes from treading on lego, or a Gruffalo Bento Box from the gingerbread house.
