Thomas and Friends Take-N–Play Thomas’ Adventure Castle

Just before Christmas we heard the exciting news that we had been chosen to be official Toys R Us Toyologists and put a toy through its paces. We were sent the Thomas and Friends Take -N–Play Thomas’ Adventure Castle which looks like this:

I wanted to surprise my 3 year old so made it whilst he was at nursery. I had some help from his little sister and it came together quite quickly. Fortunately I didn’t need a screwdriver, the pieces just slotted into place.

Take -N–Play Thomas’ Adventure Castle

The Thomas and Friends Take-N–Play Thomas’ Adventure Castle ties in with the King of the Railway film which was released last year. This is one of my son’s favourite films so he loves the set.

It’s time to get Ulfstead Castle ready for the Earl of Sodor’s celebration, so Thomas and the Troublesome Truck are racing down the track to get the job done! As they zoom downward, the flags unfurl and the treasure is revealed!

The set includes Thomas, a Troublesome Truck and treasure. It’s a fun set, as Thomas races through the castle flags unfurl, knights appear, treasure magically drops and the drawbridge lowers. It’s portable too and folds up so is a great toy for taking away to nanny’s for the weekend. You can easily add to your playset with other Take-N-Play sets and engines but I think it stands on its own quite well.

I’ve been trying to think of things which aren’t so great about the set and I’ve come up with two: Thomas and the Troublesome Truck don’t always join up if you set them off at the same time. And sometimes the track comes apart, the joins aren’t very strong so they can fall out of place.

However, for the money it’s a great toy and perfect for small hands or small houses. A must for any Thomas fan!
