Thomas & Friends Daring Dragon Drop Playset Review

Posted on September 16, 2015December 9, 2020 by jenny

With two children who both love toys you can imagine that space is at a premium in our house. That’s why I’m a fan of Thomas & Friends  Take-n-Play sets. They always fold up so they can be stored easily when not in use.

My son has always loved a toy train set and we have a few different sets – a wooden railway, Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play and Thomas & Friends Trackmaster.  For a little boy who enjoys building, vehicles and construction toys he was happy to be sent the new Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play Daring Dragon Drop Playset and a Take-n-Play Skiff Engine to review.

Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play Daring Dragon Drop Playset

A thrilling adventure awaits Thomas at Dragon Island! When Thomas finds a shield on Misty Island he bravely goes to explore Dragon Island to seek out the legendary dragon. With a volcano on the way though, Thomas must try and escape, but first he must cross the dragon bridge.

Little ones can help Thomas escape from the volcano by letting him zip-line the dangerous Dragon Bridge. This playset folds up easily for storage and portability and includes lots of exciting features such as an “erupting” volcano with lights and sounds and a dragon bridge with zip-line. Whilst the 5 year old was at school we made a little video to show you the playset.

It is a fun playset which was easy to put together, and we love the fact you can link it up with other Take-n-Play sets. It comes with a die-cast Thomas and shield which can be attached to the front of Thomas.

Skiff the cheeky sailboat is a new character featured in the Thomas & Friends movie Sodor’s Legend of the Lost Treasure which we saw earlier this summer. The DVD is out on 28th  September so I’m sure that will be on his Christmas list. Skiff is a sweet little die-cast Take-n-Play vehicle.

Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play Daring Dragon Drop Playset is suitable for ages 3 and over and has a RRP of £36.99. Skiff and other die-cast Take-n-Play engines cost from £6.99 and are suitable for ages 3 and over. Stockists include Smyths Toys, Toys R Us, Argos and other good retailers.

Thomas has dome great toys out. If it includes pushing something around, it’s always a winner with kids

Love that this easily folds away as that can be a nightmare. I also appreciate it when toy companies use common sense and make their products compatible with others in the range. Thank you for this review. x

I loved Thomas the Tank Engine as a child but he looks a bit different to what I remembered him as. Still it looks like plenty of fun!
