Thomas & Friends Rattling Railsss

Posted on March 20, 2015April 28, 2017 by jenny

The other day I mentioned that this year is Thomas & Friends 70th Birthday! I pulled together some our favourite Thomas & Friends crafts so do pop over and take a look if you are looking for some crafty inspiration.

Based on stories of the railways, Thomas & Friends invites children to enter a world of imagination on the island of Sodor. It’s an idealised world created by the Reverend W. Awdry, where trains are powered by steam – and they talk! With a strong community ethos, typified by a universal willingness to help, practice good manners and hard work, Thomas and his friends continue to inspire, excite and entertain children.

This year sees the launch of Series 19 which features Thomas and his friends, the release of the mini-series Dinos & Discoveries as well as the new film, Sodor’s Legend of the Lost Treasure.

My son has always loved playing trains and he has a couple of sets as well as lots of track. He was sent the latest  Thomas & Friends Playset to review, Thomas & Friends Rattling Railsss. This is a Take-n-Play Portable Play set for the Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play die-cast line and came with a collectible Thomas and snake.

Thomas & Friends Take-n-Play Rattling Rails

It’s the opening day of the snake ride at the Sodor Amusement Park, and the real life snake has gone missing! Thomas has the very important job of helping to search for the snake. He starts at the top level of the ride and rides down into the snake head. You can push the handle and the giant snake ride begins! Thomas is brought back up to the top level to check for the snake again!

This is a sweet set which my children are enjoying playing with. It fits well with our other Take-n-Play sets and we like the fact it’s so interactive. One thing we noticed is that the magnetic connectors have changed shape, they are now round rather than square.  My son immediately noticed it but it doesn’t seem to have an impact on joining the trains together. This set is priced around £19.99 which represents good value.

My little boy used to absolutely love Thomas the Tank Engine. This looks a lot of fun.

This is definitely one of the most fun interactive sets we’ve seen.

They keep adding more characters all the time but we prefer the old ones like James and Percy too!
