I’m not sure how we first came across Rob Biddulph but he helped keep the children busy during lockdown. He’s a best-selling children’s author and artist and has been sharing how to draw some of his best-loved characters over on his YouTube channels since lockdown started. Rob’s original hit videos are also available at www.robbiddulph.com, and on Facebook, YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram.
How to join in with #DrawWithRob
We took part in his World Record Breaking attempt back in May and the children were hooked. Rob teamed up with Art World Records to smash the record for the largest ever online art lesson, which he easily achieved.
Each of his videos lasts about 30 minutes and you can learn to draw your favourite characters from Penguin Blue to a very Hot Dog, and many more! Both my children love to be creative and the whole family have joined in and had fun! Once your children have learned to draw Rob Biddulph’s characters, you will find them everywhere. My son even included them on the Stay Home Journal he produced as part of his Home Learning.
All you need to get started is a sheet of paper, drawing pencil and colouring pencils. Rob’s original hit videos can be found at www.robbiddulph.com and YouTube, and you can share your artwork using #DrawWithRob on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram.
Draw with Rob activity book
My children love sitting with their special art books and colouring pens and following his latest draw-along on YouTube. Good news for Rob Biddulph fans as the viral phenomenon #DrawWithRob is now a brand-new activity book to help you to draw at home with creative genius and official World Book Day illustrator Rob Biddulph!
HarperCollins Children’s Books and Rob Biddulph have been busy making DRAW WITH ROB into an incredible activity book for every family to share. Rob firmly believes that anyone can learn to draw and his easy-to-follow instructions and warm-hearted humour make drawing a joy, whether you’re home-schooling, learning to draw or just having fun.
This brilliant book brings together some of his best-loved draw-alongs from dinosaurs and aliens to pugs and self-portraits, with loads of new activities to keep you busy and get your creativity flowing. It even has perforated pages so you can tear them out and display your art!
