I love to start the week by writing the Monday Happy List. It’s a chance for me to sit down and reflect on the things that made me happy in the previous week, as well as to record some of our family adventures – it’s a post I love to write.
Monday Happy List {Week 279}
Last week my husband went to Norway for a few days for work. I don’t mind looking after my children on my own but it was a different matter with a puppy thrown into the mix. It was quite hard work and I was so glad when my husband came home! My husband had a great time away but missed our daughter getting invested into Cubs. Luckily I was there to see it and I was so proud to hear her make her Promise. She’d been practicing for weeks!
I treated myself to a crafty subscription box from MakeBox + Co, the Love Paper Box. I love papercutting and made one of the pieces and framed it for my husband for Valentine’s Day. My daughter also received her first Valentine’s Day card from her little boyfriend!
Our Bichon Frise puppy turned 14 weeks. He had his first grooming session which I think he found slightly traumatic. They gave him a wash and trimmed the hair around his eyes so he can see again. He’s had an exciting few days as we’ve been away and we’ve taken him to a dog friendly cafe, the pub and even to the beach. He’s also met lots of new people.
It’s taken a while but we’ve finally had our first Airbnb experience. We booked a little dog-friendly cottage in Devon for the weekend. It was fun staying in an old cottage and the children loved sharing a room. We were within walking distance of the pub, which meant we could take him and the children to the pub (something I really miss since becoming a parent!). The weather was pretty terrible thanks to Storm Dennis but there was a brief period of sunshine where we were able to go to Dawlish Beach and enjoy an ice cream.
Have a great week everyone!

February 17, 2020 at 3:55 pmIt’s interesting to hear that you had a good time away, despite the bad weather. We’re just about to open an Airbnb this weekend, so I’m hoping the weather isn’t too bad 😬.

February 17, 2020 at 8:31 pmYour little trip to Devon sounds lovely, and it’s good to hear that the storm didn’t ruin your plans and you still got time to go to the beach. I’m sure you little puppy will get used to the groomer after a few more times of going there.

February 18, 2020 at 10:36 amHave an amazing time in Devon – I may be biased (living there myself) but it really is the best place. And happy 14 weeks to your super adorable pupper.
