I couldn’t resist another craft kit. I have no patience for longer projects at the moment but when I saw an email from Cotton Clara I really couldn’t resist buying myself a cute Cotton Clara wooden banner embroidery kit. I went for one with the message Hip Hip Hooray and chose a mustard coloured thread to compliment our living room.

This was a simple kit but just what I needed. Inside the pack was the wooden laser cut banner, mustard coloured thread, a needle and string to hang up the completed banner.
I realised pretty quickly that I had already stitched a similar wooden banner back in 2018 also by Cotton Clara. I tried to put my own spin on that little one and still have it hanging up. This one was equally straightforward to sew. I took it to keep my hands busy when my son was in hospital recently. I found it hard to concentrate but stitched it up pretty quickly once we were back at home.
The thread was lovely and chunky to stitch with. Then I added the thread to hang it up.
I really love the colour mustard and have been trying to add more things to our living room in this colour. As the kids get a little older and have less toys lying around (maybe wishful thinking!) I like to think that our living space will become a little more grown up. This is a great start, in fact I still need to hang the Cotton Clara embroidery hoop I made last month too. Perhaps a little wall of embroidery hoops is just what our living space needs.
This is really simple but every effective. I expect it is quite soothing to do if you have a busy head and need to chill. Mich x
