My 2018 Craft Goals {6 month update}

Janet Clare's Village Embroidery Kit

At the start of this year I had huge plans to tidy up my craft stash. My 2018 Craft Goals included sorting out my craft books, fabric stash and pile of WIP’s which were out of control and needed reining in. We’re almost half way through the year so it seems like a good time to write a little update here on my blog.

My 2018 Craft Goals {6 month update}

I have stitched a few of my WIPs, not as many as I wanted to, but still. At least I have been sewing more. I finished the sashiko stitching panel and London bus pin cushion kit. I’ve picked up the Shipping forecast panel too but sadly keep ignoring it – sometimes a project just feels *too* big to tackle.

I’ve been really good and not bought any new sewing kits this year which feels like a big achievement. Instead I am trying to only work through my stash. Last year I bought myself a few fabric kits, including Janet Clare’s Village Embroidery Kit which I bought at the Spring Knitting and Stitching Show. I don’t know why it took me so long but I can now tick this one off my list too. I stitched most of it during our half term adventures and yesterday I rinsed the soluble fleece off it to reveal the finished piece. I love little houses and this was a joy to stitch.

Aside from these, every month I attempt to make the crafty cover gift which comes along with my Mollie Makes magazine, I’ve also been making the Craftpod subscription box projects. Does sewing Beaver and Cubs badges count as I’ve sewn MANY of these recently.

Back to my crafty to do list and I’ve been sorting out my craft stash. I’ve passed some craft kits to a friend and have a pile for my sister next time I see her.

I’ve added things to my Etsy shop but am going to try and list a few more before my children break up for the school holidays. I did make a little sale recently which made me happy.

The house is still pretty cluttered with my craft supplies but I do feel that I’ve achieved some of my goals. I’m a terrible procrastinator but I’ve found that having a list really does help. Look out for my 12 month update in December!

    I always have ‘be more crafty’ on my new years resolutions! This year I’ve been involved in some charity events so I’ve crocheted forget me nots for dementia and right now I’m making poppies!

    Great that you’re achieving your craft goals! I love the cross stitch. And yes, stitching Beaver badges on totally counts as crafting!
