My 2018 Craft Goals

My 2018 Craft Goals

Posted on January 8, 2018January 8, 2018 by jenny

Today I’m joining in with Mollie Makers Week organised by Mollie Makes magazine. I don’t think I’ve ever joined in with an Insta Challenge before but I thought that this was a good one, especially as this year is all about kicking my creativity into touch. Don’t forget to follow me on Instagram to see what I’m up to!

Starting today there are a week of prompts you can join in with over on Instagram: Craft Goals, You, Making Spot, Must-haves, Fave Make, Craft Stash and Inspiration.

My 2018 Craft Goals

Todays prompt was Craft Goals so I thought this was a great chance to re-visit my goals for the year:

Make or give away all the craft kits I have – this is a huge goal but my house is stuffed with craft kits, to the point that I really don’t need to buy anything again. I’ve listed the kits I want to make in this post and have a huge stash to either list in my Etsy shop or donate to a charity shop. I want to achieve this by the end of the year.

Make and give more handmade gifts. I love giving handmade gifts but I just need to plan ahead and give myself more time.

Give my Etsy shop a makeover. My Etsy shop is so neglected. I’m always meaning to re-stock it so I’ve pencilled in some time for this. I have lots of vintage supplies to list and sell which should hopefully free up some space.

Use up my craft stash before I buy anything else. As well as all the craft kits I also have lots of fabric. My tastes have changed so I want to go through and de-stash. I might list some pieces in my Etsy shop and just donate the rest to charity. I love de-cluttering and January feels like a good month for it.

My long term goal would be to organise a craft space. This might have to wait until the children leave home…

Go through my craft books. Again, I have lots of craft books. There are sewing books, kids craft books and paper cutting books. I want to go through everything and weed out some of the older ones I no longer use.

Try sewing some clothes. I would really love to try and make my children some pyjamas bottoms. There are so many lovely fabric and pyjama bottoms have to be the easiest thing to stitch?! I might try this towards the end of the year when I can justify buying new fabric.

I would love to think this is an achievable list with everything else that’s going on in my life. Ideally I would set some specific dates but as long as I end the year with emptier shelves, a tidy craft cupboard and maybe even some money in my pocket, then I’ll be happy. I can’t wait to go and see what others have said via the #molliemakersweek.

The craft space, so important. A creative space that’s separated from the rest of the word:)

One of my goals this year is to do more crafts. I am currently crocheting a blanket for my daughter

I’d love to get more involved with crafts. Already failing. My son’s birthday at the end of the month, and I usually make the invitations. I shamefully went and bought some yesterday as I feel like I’m running out of time. Weirdest thing is, the invites have dragons on them, and his party is going to be Paddington themed! Go figure. I’m not impressed. I also have a friend inviting me to a knit and natter group, and I keep putting her off. I think I need to sort this out, just not cricket at all.

These are good goals. I have built up a little stash and have lots to make. I have made a little crafting area and am thinking about ETSY but am not sure how to do it… I love your goals.

I have to admit that I am terrible at crafts, although enjoy doing them with the kids. It is good to have a craft stash
