As Baker Ross ambassadors we were sent a selection of craft kits to review. The latest one was this fun set of Solar System scratch art containing 6 designs including space ships and planets.
When I was at school we made our own scratch art but these kits are much easier. Simply scratch the specially coated surface to reveal stunning rainbow colours. Each pre-cut planet shape comes with a scratch tool and coloured ribbon for hanging.
How to make a Solar system scratch art display
You will need:
Solar system scratch art kit from Baker Ross
Cardboard box
Centre punch
Split pins
Torch
First decorate your planets and shapes however you wish using the scratch art tool. We decided to make our very own solar system display so painted an old cereal box with black paint. When it had dried we made some holes in it using a centre punch. Then we attached each finished design to our background using split pins.
This meant we were able to move the designs around to make our very own ‘out of this world’ solar system. We made a few extra holes so we could shine a torch through the holes to make stars. The children loved this activity and it’s a great way to discuss space and other planets in the solar system.
