It’s funny how the beautiful family home we bought before we had children is now bursting at the seams. We clearly never anticipated the explosion of stuff that came with having one child and with the arrival of Little Sis we are now constantly tripping over toys, children or cats and are looking forward to moving sometime next year. I’m excited at the prospect of gaining space and perhaps the chance to update some of our furniture which we’ve had for years.
Little Sis is currently in with us but in a couple of months she’ll need her own space. Big Brother’s room is quite neutral as we didn’t know if he was a boy or a girl so we will be needing to choose lots of kids bedroom furniture!
We’ve had most of our furniture since we bought our first flat, purchased from a international home products chain. It’s lasted well but it would be lovely to buy some new living room furniture and bedroom furniture. We spend most of our time in the living room where we have a real mix of items, some vintage but mostly new. With boisterous Big Brother the lounge furniture gets a daily beating. He can often be found launching himself off the sofa head first whilst we all just look on in amusement/horror. Wherever we move to I just hope we manage to invest in some sturdy furniture!
