I had the good fortune to attend the launch of this years Open House at the new Olympic site in Stratford this evening. For as long as I’ve lived in London this has been my favourite weekend of the year. I’ve lost count of the amazing buildings I’ve had the opportunity to visit. My absolutely favourite so far has been the Midland Grand Hotel at St Pancras Station. For the past couple of years the weekend has ended up with a bottle of red wine at Gordon’s Wine Bar by Embankment Station followed by fireworks over the Thames as part of The Mayor’s Thames Festival.
