Win a bundle of children's books from Stripes Publishing

Win a bundle of children’s books from Stripes Publishing

Posted on January 12, 2019 by jenny

I mentioned the other day that my youngest finally discovered the joy of reading over Christmas. It was if a lightbulb had switched on and she realised just how good it was to read independently. We’ve always shared books, both during the day and at bedtime, but now I find she always has her head in a book! If she can snatch an extra 5 minutes in bed with a good book then she will. It’s lovely to see, especially as her brother is like this too.

I love sharing new books on my blog so am delighted to have teamed up with Stripes Publishing, an imprint of the Little Tiger Group, and have a wonderful bundle of books to giveaway today. Read on the find out a little more about them, and don’t forget to enter the giveaway via the Rafflecopter widget at the bottom of this post.

Shine: Sara’s Dream Role by Holly Webb

Shine: Sara's Dream Role by Holly Webb“This was her big chance to prove herself to her parents but she had a horrible suspicion that a part in a West End show wasn’t going to be her parents’ dream come true …”

Dance and drama classes are hugely popular among young children – for many of these full-time stage school is the dream! When there’s a big audition for a West End production of Mary Poppins at The Shine School for the Performing Arts, Sara is hoping this’ll be her big chance. She sings her heart out in the first round of auditions and is delighted to get a callback for the part of Jane. But rather than being pleased for her, Sara’s mum iso only concerned about how getting the role would affect her schoolwork.

Meanwhile, Lizabeth, another talented student, has her eye on the same role, and is ready to go to extremes to make sure the part is hers. Feeling nervous about the next audition, can Sara avoid Lizabeth’s schemes and secure the role of her dreams?

A glittering series of stage and friendship dramas set at a top school for the performing arts, reissued with gorgeous new covers and redesigned interiors, including new illustrations by Monique Dong.

Sara’s Dream Role is the second book in the SHINE series, following Chloe Centre Stage, by the best-selling author, Holly Webb. An ideal introduction to the stage school genre, for young fans of Ballet Shoes, the Olivia series and Etoile School for Stars to read on their own.

Star Friends: Poison Potion by Linda Chapman

Star Friends: Poison Potion by Linda ChapmanDo you believe in magic? Lottie and her friends do! And when they meet the Star Animals, a whole world of magical adventure unfolds.

The Star Friends still don’t know who is using the woodland plants to create dark magic potions. Could it be the grumpy new school secretary? Meanwhile, Lottie’s friend Essie is being mean at school, and none of the adults want to go to work! The girls must combine their powers to unmask the potion-maker – and defeat them once and for all.

Star Friends: Poison Potion is the sixth book in the fantastic Star Friends series, by the fabulous best-selling author Linda Chapman, with beautiful illustrations by Lucy Fleming. Featuring four best friends for readers to identify with, the girls face realistic friendship issues, with their adorable animal familiars. Readers will be engrossed in this world of magic and fantasy – it’s the perfect book for young, inspired and animal-loving readers.

Star Friends is ideal for fans of My Secret Unicorn and The Rescue Princesses, and for Rainbow Magic readers looking to move in to a more challenging adventure.

The Perfect Kitten by Holly Webb

The Perfect Kitten by Holly WebbAmy has always wanted a kitten of her own, but when her family contacts the local animal shelter to enquire about adopting one, she’s devastated to find out that the busy road they live on would make it too dangerous.

Then the shelter rescues a deaf white kitten that needs to be kept inside. She’s the perfect kitten for Amy’s family. And what will happen when the kitten gets bored of staying inside?

A brand new tale in the Animal Stories series from best-selling author Holly Webb, a must for animal loving readers aged around six to eight years.

I really want to give world war z another go this year. I just couldn’t get into it last year and forgot all about it. What with a sequel to the rather average film version planned I know I should really try and finish it then I can properly compare the film and the book.
