We have a fresh water tropical tank which my husband gives a lot of attention to. We recently received a parcel of crafting goodies from Baker Ross to keep us going through the summer holidays and as soon as I saw a pack of Tropical Fish Foam stickers I knew what we could make – our own tank full of little fishes.

How to make a cardboard box fish tank
I cut a large square from the front of the cardboard box then let the children paint the box. We found a really great blue paint with glitter in which when dry looked perfect for our water. They gave the box two coats of paint to make sure all the cardboard was covered.
When the box was completely dry we cut out some plants from green felt and craft foam and used sticky dots to keep them in place.
Then we opened the pack of Tropical Fish Foam Stickers from Baker Ross. The pack contained 100 stickers of 25 designs so I let the children look through them and choose their favourites.
The stickers were made from printed self-adhesive white foam so easy for the children to peel the backs off and place them where they wanted. I thought they were pretty restrained but I have a sneaky feeling they could have used all the stickers if I hadn’t stopped them.
They loved the end result and I was happy the upcycled cardboard box fish tank was something they made together.
We have lots more fishy crafts planned so stay tuned!
