Tuesday Happy List – week 93

Orla Kiely bin

As I lay in bed last night I realised that for the first time in over a year I hadn’t written or published my weekly Happy List post. It’s not that I didn’t have anything to share, life is full and busy, but I was actually living life rather than blogging about it. So, slightly later than usual – it’s time for my weekly Monday Tuesday Happy List, a chance for me to record some of my favourite things from the previous week.

Enjoyed probably isn’t the word but I thought the commemorations for the anniversary of the Battle of the Somme last week were beautiful. I probably wasn’t the only one who appreciated the irony of our commemoration, standing side by side with representatives from other European countries days after voting to leave a union which should prevent this kind of wars happening again. My Great Uncle is commemorated at Thiepval so I watched as many of the tv programmes as I could along with my 4 year old. Thiepval is an amazing place to visit and I can’t wait to take my children their one day so they can remember the sacrifices made for all of us.

On Saturday I took part in my second concert with the Hillingdon Choral Society. We performed a concert version of My Fair Lady which went really well. My children came along for the first half and really enjoyed themselves. I want them to appreciate music and this is a great first step.

I have gained a gorgeous Orla Kiely bin which currently has pride of place in our bedroom. I can’t bear the thought of putting rubbish in it just yet. Needless to say my children played with the empty box all weekend!

Tomorrow we’re taking part in a fun #LionGuardToys Twitter Party with @UKMumsTV (find out more here). I love chatting on Twitter so if you’re around in the afternoon do join us!

There was also a little pampering time. I was sent some new samples to try including the Venus & Olay, which both
removes hairs and soothes skin at the same time. The clever Venus & Olay blades feature shave gel bars which make contact with the skin before and after the razor to lubricate and ease the blades over the skin, eliminating the feel of irritation and moisturising as it goes! It’s not cheap, priced at around £10.99, but so much better than borrowing my husband’s razor!

Have a great week…
