Teresa Mills pixelated mosaic kit

Pixelated mosaic heart decoration

Posted on October 21, 2016June 1, 2018 by jenny

We recently spent the day in the pretty town of Marlow where we came across a lovely pop up shop called the Craft Coop. This is a social enterprise business supporting over 150 artisans based in and around Maidenhead. Craft Coop takes over empty shops in town centres, bringing them back to life and offering a space for local artisans to showcase their products, as well as giving people the opportunity to purchase lovely handcrafted items.

The Craft Coop in Marlow was just my kind of shop and one product which really stood out was the pixelated mosaic kits from Teresa Mills. I was delighted to be offered one to review via email a few weeks later.

Teresa Mills has produced a range of really cute pixelated mosaic kits. They include pictures, objects, letters and seasonal kits. Everything you need is packaged up a sweet little tote bag meaning the kits are a lovely gift for crafty kids or adults.

My 6 year old son is very creative so I picked the Pink Heart picture kit for him. This year we are making our Christmas gifts so I thought this would be a great way to get a head start! Inside the bag was a heart shaped baseboard, bag of glass and glitter tiles, PVA glue and instructions.

My son wanted to give the heart to his Nanny so picked the correct letter from the enclosed letter guide.

He positioned it within the marks on the baseboard and starting glueing the tiles in place. He used red tiles for the letter and then placed the other colours randomly around it.

He’s happy using PVA glue so this was a craft he was able to do pretty much independently of me. He made the pixelated mosaic over a couple of days as his after school activity. The PVA glue dried clear but we wiped up any spills with a wet wipe. I know that his Nanny loves to receive homemade gifts, especially anything made by her grand-children, and this will look great hung up at her home.

The Pixelated mosaic kit (Pink Heart) costs £11. Designed by mosaic artist Teresa Mills, all the kits are handmade in the UK from genuine, high quality materials.

This looks really good and not bad for £11. I think my niece would love this as she is quite arty x
