World Book Day will be different this year. As a parent I’m glad that I don’t need to provide my children with costumes to wear to school as both of them dislike dressing up. We will be celebrating World Book Day (Thursday 4th March) at home. We have already chosen books with our World Book Day vouchers and are looking forward to some of the online events we’ve seen. World Book Day 2021 This year World Book Day falls on Thursday 4th March. We love World Book Day because it encourages everyone to celebrate books! Reading has been a big…

If you’re a parent of a child in Infant or Junior School then I’m sure you will be aware that World Book Day is coming up next week. Our family are not fans of dressing up so we are relieved that the children only have to take their favourite book in as they will have plenty of time to read during school. Viking recently asked if I would like to craft something special for World Book Day. They knew that we all love reading and asked us to remember a story that sparked our imagination, then craft a scene, character…

My 7 year old recently caught the reading bug. She has been reading all her older brothers books, which means she has devoured the Captain Underpants, Barry Loser and The Diary of a Wimpy Kid books. She is regularly falling asleep with a book on her face and I love that she just wants to read. World Book Day is here again! Us parents either love it or loathe it. I was so jealous of other school as ours had a strict pyjama dress code only. Last year this was relaxed but there has been some hoo haa this year, loads of confusion and the mixed message of costumes or pyjamas. I understand that not everyone wants to buy or make costumes for World Book Day. My son hates dressing up but my daughter loves it. This year she really wanted to go as Harry Potter but eventually she chose Where’s Wally instead. I didn’t mind,…

This is the first year that my children’s school has celebrated World Book Day. Previously they have given out the tokens but never asked the children to dress up. I always enjoyed looking at my Facebook feed and seeing what everyone dressed their children up as, this year it was our turn to take part! My daughter loves dressing up but my son never has. I asked them both what they wanted to be. My 5 year old immediately said Batman! We’ve never read a Batman book but we were lucky to receive one when we attended The Lego Batman…

I love working with Miles Kelly. Not only do they publish brilliant books they also come up with some really fun ideas to celebrate and promote reading. I’m sure you’re all well aware that World Book Day is coming up soon which is one of the biggest celebrations of children’s books and reading. This year my 3 year old will be going to nursery in his favourite pyjamas and taking his favourite book with him. We’ve also received a book voucher which we’re looking forward to spending soon. Celebrating World Book Day with Miles Kelly I was offered the chance…
