With Valentine’s Day coming up soon I have been experimenting with snacks to make for the children. I love making something special for them when they get home from school and came up with these fun heart-shaped Valentine brownies. I cheated by using a cake mix to save time but you could use a favourite brownie recipe if you have one. I used: Betty Crocker’s Chocolate Brownie mix Heart shaped cookie cutter Cake pop sticks Red icing Sprinkles How to make heart-shaped Valentine brownies I whipped up the brownie mix, adding chocolate star-shaped sprinkles to the mixture. We love crafting with washi tape. A few years ago I went crazy buying it and we still have so much of it. The good thing is that it is still sticky and perfect for crafting with. It’s especially fun for the children as they can just tear the tape with their fingers, no need for scissors! With Valentine’s Day coming up it is a great time to start on handmade Valentine’s Day cards and gifts. We always make them for the family and this year have made simple washi tape Valentine hearts bookmarks. We used: Heart-shaped cookie cutter Washi…

Sometimes I love being a blogger as I get the chance to work with some great craft brands. We’ve been working with Baker Ross for a while now and were delighted to receive a bundle of their new craft supplies to make some Valentine’s Day art. Every year we love to give handmade cards and we’ll be continuing this tradition this year thanks to Baker Ross. We used the Craft-it! foam sheets and Craft-it! large picture frames to create some unique hand print art. We’ll show you the steps we went through so you can make it too! Hand print…

This year we had a lot of wrapping paper and cards left over after Christmas. We try to recycle as much as possible to reduce our waste so the children and I have been using up some of this paper in our crafts. This week we’ve been making some Valentine decorations and have had fun with our coiled paper heart craft. You will need: wrapping paper scissors glue dots ruler heart-shaped cookie cutter How to make coiled paper hearts We experimented and cut our wrapping paper into short strips (longer strips will give larger coils). Then fold the paper in…

With Valentine’s Day fast approaching I thought it was time that Little Sis and I practised our baking skills. We made a batch of delicious gingerbread heart biscuits using our favourite gingerbread recipe. We iced them with a simple red fondant. Then I thought it might be fun to stamp some letters on the top to make personalised biscuits, so got my letter stamps out. Obviously my 4 year old can’t spell so I helped her. The only problem was that she kept coming up with naughty words, not the kind of words I wanted to stamp! Here are our…

This year I am really looking forward to working with some great craft brands and I am excited to be sharing a post today which has been sponsored by Bostik. We received a wonderful box of craft supplies and Bostik glues to make something special for Valentines Day. With both children off sick from school yesterday, it was the perfect activity to keep them occupied. The craft supplies included brightly coloured paper and felt so we decided to make some Scandi style felt heart decorations for our living room. Traditionally made at Christmas time, I didn’t see why we couldn’t…

I admit we’re quite addicted to making these kid-friendly luminaries. There is always a good supply of empty glasses and LED tea lights in our house so this is a fun craft for kids to make and give as a gift. Easy…
