Both my children are interested in a more sustainable way of living. I love that they are always coming up with ways to cut down on waste at home and find ways to reduce, reuse and recycle. My son recently became a travel ambassador at school, encouraging more people to walk or cycle to school and reduce unnecessary car journeys. Preparing for the Future campaign My kids are real digital kids, never happier than with a tablet in their hands. But this is something we encourage them to do. They are also members of Cubs and I think they strike…

My 9 year old really enjoys coding and wants to be a computer game designer when he’s older. I think he would enjoy school more if he had more IT lessons as these are definitely a favourite subject! Last year he signed up to a Coding Club at our local library and we’ve been trying to encourage him to learn more in his spare time. You Can Code: Make your own games, apps and more in Scratch and Python A few weeks ago we were gifted a copy of You Can Code by Kevin Pettman. This is a straightforward guide,…

My 7 year old is really easy to buy for at Christmas. He loves YouTube and playing computer games, especially Minecraft and is a bit of a Star Wars geek too. Gift guide for 7 year old gamers We’re lucky to have both a PS4 and Nintendo Switch thanks to my husband who loves computer games too. I would totally…

Now a range of Slither.io toys have been launched here in the UK. This afternoon we spent a lovely few hours at the PlayStation Family Showcase at the Perseverance Works in London. Big Brother and Dad went last year and they had such a good time that we all decided to go this year. We had been ice skating in the morning at a Baby born event, more of that another day. PlayStation Family Showcase The PlayStation Family Showcase is a brilliant way to see all the upcoming family-friendly PlayStation games. My son and husband are huge gamers on our PS4 so couldn’t wait to see what they could try out. It took place in…

My youngest loves dinosaurs. Her bedside table is full of books about dinosaurs and they always seem to crop up in whatever game she is playing thanks to her collection of little toy dinosaurs. So it’s probably no surprise to other parents that she loves the Dinosaur Train tv show. It features a curious young Tyrannosaurus rex named Buddy who, together with his adopted Pteranodon family, takes the Dinosaur Train to explore his time period, and have adventures with all kinds of dinosaurs. Fans of the Dinosaur Train will love the new Dinosaur Train: Paint and Match app. Based on the popular Dinosaur Train tv Series…

Do your children love anything YO-KAI WATCH? In case you haven’t heard it’s a role-playing video game which has branched into more games, manga, anime, music and merchandise. The games are based around a male or female character and in it you explore Springdale, meet new and familiar Yo-Kai and all the curious occurrences. My children love their Nintendo and were excited to receive a copy of the sequel to the hugely popular Yo-Kai Watch – YO-KAI WATCH 2: Bony Spirits to play.
