    New shoes!

I felt a bit emotional yesterday. My 11 month old is growing up in leaps and bounds and I can’t help but feel happy and sad at the same time. She’s been giving us loads of problems lately – first it was off her milk completely, then off her food, then waking constantly in the night. However, in the last week or two (fingers crossed) things have improved. I’ve made a huge effort to give her more finger food as she prefers feeding herself to being fed, she’s drinking milk and water from a cup herself and she’s sleeping better.…

Back to School with Clarks kids

I know I’m not the only mother counting down the days until their child goes back to school. Mine only goes to his nursery for a couple of hours each week. We’re coping but I must admit to missing time spent with my 8 month old. Plus the toddler needs a lot of entertaining and I’m having to dig deep to keep him busy! Back to School with Clarks kids We were asked if we would like to review the Clarks kids new Back To School collection which is currently hitting stores. We always shop in Clarks as the poor…

Win a pair of Skeanies’ shoes for children

My daughter has recently been trying out her first pair of shoes. Starting out in Australia, the SKEANIE brand – loved by little feet around the world – has come to Europe. Its eco-approach only uses off cuts of leather to create stylish shoes that nurture and protect children’s feet. If this sounds like your kind of brand I have a great giveaway so you can win a pair of shoes of your own choice. I ordered a pair of the adorable Infant Mary-Janes in pink for my daughter. SKEANIES are shown in European sizes but the website has a really handy measuring chart…

    New shoes from Clarks

There’s something exciting about new shoes and Edward feels the same way. Last week we were invited to our local Clarks store so Edward could choose a pair of new shoes from the Autumn/Winter 2011 collection. His feet were measured and I was surprised that his feet had grown a whole size. As a size 7H he needed the widest fitting which unfortunately limited our choice to just two pairs in stock. One pair had flashing lights which were very appealing but I didn’t like the colours of the shoe and the other pair featured a rather fab dinosaur on…

Step out in style with Clarks

Heatwave one week, threats of snow in October the next. I seriously cannot keep on top of the weather at the moment! However, I’m on the lookout for some winter boots for Edward and Clarks have some great contenders. From sports inspired shoes to boots tailor-made for the great outdoors, the essential trends for this season are here! Soft suede and premium leathers are used in mini-me styles that take their lead from work wear (great for Edward who loves to copy his daddy). Essential winter wear features, including warm linings Gore-Tex and Active Air technologies, add fit for purpose…

    Clarks Back to School competition

As thoughts are turning to the end of summer and the inevitability of back to nursery or school I’m excited to team up with Clarks to bring you a great competition. Clarks understand how important it is to find the perfect pair of school shoes for your kids and this year they’re continuing to ensure you get the best value for money, most durability and latest styles all in one place. Every pair of shoes in the 2011 Back to School range goes through up to 50 punishing wear and tear tests before production so you know they’re fully schoolproof.…

    Clarks shoes (review)

Buying shoes scares me. I’ve never enjoyed shoe shopping and I’m terrified of buying shoes for Edward in case I damage his feet. Fortunately Clarks asked me if we would like to experience their shoe fitting service and we were very happy to oblige. After the rain cleared yesterday we made our way to our local Clarks in Muswell Hill where we were met by a very friendly fitter. Edward was very shy but was given a copy of the Clarks magazine which he looked through whilst I chatted to the shoe fitter about Edward’s feet. He measured Edward’s feet…

    Reasons to be cheerful

    1. I bought Edward a lovely pair of walking shoes today. He hasn’t noticed he’s wearing them yet which is a good sign as he kept taking the last pair off! As he was such a good boy at the shoe shop (getting his feet measured and walking around the shop in a couple of pairs of shoes) I spoiled him by buying him some new toys even though he doesn’t need any more. There are lovely independent shops in Crouch End and I bought him a set of wooden animals and an activity book. 2. I have an annoying…

    Clarks Seasonal Showcase

Last week we were invited to take a look at the new Clarks Autumn/Winter 2011 collection in a beautiful period house in central London. Edward has recently started walking and I’m interested to see what shoes are available. We’d never been to an event like this before but we’re huge Clarks fans. I’ve always worn Clarks as they are so well made and good value for money and I hope Edward will enjoy wearing Clarks too. Clarks have been creating shoes for the last 18o years and the latest collection uses their Somerset heritage as a picturesque backdrop to the…
